Pa, manje-više, da.

Za prikaz važi isto što i za bilo koje drugo delo (priču, roman, itd.): mora da ima početak, sredinu i kraj. Kad to savladaš, onda možeš da eksperimentišeš sa formom i sl.

Ali, generalno, i kod tih eksperimenata, određena pravila se moraju poštovati, inače nema ništa od razumevanja.

mića je u pravu, iz vizure normalnog čitaoca.

ali pošto taj blog nije za normalne čitaoce, ne mislim da je ta 'ravnoća' toliki problem. meni lično je strašno zabavan sinov tok svesti, i mada u principu volim i pasuse i naglaske i ritam na neki razumniji način ostvarene, mislim da je najveća draž tog bloga upravo u tom 'što na um to na drum' pristupu, sirovom, neobrađenom, neizbrušenom, neispeglanom.
zato bih ja sinu reko samo ovo - keep up the good work! ne menaj ništa.

E, vidi se da si naivan. On ti to tako priča da mu ne bi preoteo baš sve čitaoce.  :)

Što sam tako ne piše? I njegov blog je za ekstremne čitaoce, pa ipak koristi znakove interpunkcije i pravi razmake između redova...

nemoj tako jbga, njegov blog ima skroz drugaciji koncept, a ja se bavim samo bizarnim likovima, serijskim ubicama, linkovima i tako time...moji i njegovi chitaoci nemaju bas puno dodirnih tacaka, osim mozda ove ekipe odavle, meni dodje jbga neki lik iz Irana da skine Ted Bandija i slichno, dok kod njega dolazi omladina da chita, da nesto nauci, to ne moz se poredi...budimo realni...

Opet moram da reagujem po ovom pitanju. Ne zajebavajte Sina. Ovo što radi, kako radi, jedinstveno je i neponovljivo. Što se mene tiče, ako mu moje mišljenje znači, može da menja stil i da piše romane, priče i koješta, ali što se njegovih prikaza sa bloga tiče, njegovih pričica iz života i opšteg svetonazora... To ne bi trebalo promeniti ni za zarez.

Recimo, desi mi se da me bude sramota kad čitam neke budalaštine po Popboksu. Jeste, nema veze sa mnom i možda me tema marginalno interesuje, ali opet me obuzme neki osećaj sramote. Sa druge strane, kad čitam Sina, on izaziva samo pozitivno oduševljenje i to takav kakav je. Nek se vređa ako hoće, ali taj osećaj me neodoljivo podseća na efekat onog klipa nedavno okačenog ovde, onog Cige koji svira Pink Floyd i Black Sabbath.

Zato, Sindžo, samo gruvaj dalje i tako ti Mensona, daj onog Dvejna Pitersa! Častim deset piva.

Jesam li ja ovo skrivio kad sam onomad nesmotreno, nepromišljeno i nedotupavno pomenuo prigrljavanje pasusa?  :cry: Skrenuo bih ti pažnju da si postavljanjem polla postavio i jezičku barijeru svojim posetiocima iz Obale Ljudovače & Co.  - onima koji obično dobiju samo bezdušni anglo kopipejst a ostanu uskraćeni za meandriranje toka svesti, za razliku od srbskorvatsko čitajućih. Zašto? Ja bih rekao - jerbo znaš da su za njih samo linkovi, a ne i BLOG, oni samo okreću brojač, brat je mio ma koje vere bio ali đaba to bez inicijacije.

Jbga od Dvejna jos nista, ja sam jos onomad postavio poslanichko, cim se niko ne javlja nema jbga...javio bi ti ja...

Cutteru, blog je i koncipiran tako da se stranci osecaju ugrozeni, a nas narod iz ex-YU povlascen, jer obichno, gledo sam po drugim blogovima sa filmovima, svi ma iz koje zemlje bili stave prvo engleski rivju, pa onda eventualno na svom jeziku, a i sve ostalo je na engleskom, pa i komentarise se na engleskom, dok sam ja ovde strance skroz izopstio, da malo oni vide kako to izgleda jbga kad te niko ne jebe, pa kad eventualno komentarisu onda me pito jedan lik, kaze na koji jezik da prevedem ovo xrofl

Nisam do sada ništa komentarisao na blogu, ali redovno čitam i ovo kako je sada je skroz na mestu, nepretenciozno a veoma korisno; za neke filmove sam tu prvi put čuo, evo skinuo sam upravo ovaj Rest in Pieces i pogledao uvod i... jedva čekam da pogledam ostatak! Inače, glasao sam za: VR' jednom recju opciju, mada sam u jednom trenutko hteo da glasam za: ovaj blog promovise ZLO ! (za to je Ghoul glasao, garant). Dakle, samo piči dok možeš i želiš, blog ti je jedinstven u najboljem smislu te reči.

hehe, bice izgleda ljuta borba izmedju ZLA i VR', mada mom egu najvise prija ono sramota za srpski narod  :mrgreen:

Uglavnom sta god da pobedi ja cu biti zadovoljan, jer narod je reko svoje, pa makar i najnegativnije da bude to me nece omesti u mojim nastojanjima da ne menjam bukvalno nista, zapravo iznimno mi je trebala bilo kakva podrska u ovim teskim vremenima posrnuca ega, imo sam neke jbga nervne lomove i krahove o kojima ne bih sad...nametale mi se neke sulude misli...a evo vec sad mi bolje... :!:

ps: ja nisam glasao jer mislim da su demokratija i sl. sranja sasvim strani principi jednom ovakvom blogu, i sin je za tim glasanjem posegao u trenutku slabosti i želje za pažnjom.

Ghoule moram da priznam da si skroz u pravu, ali moram jos nesto da dodam : u opisu mog granicnog poremecaja lichnosti, a to mi je i psihijatar prekjuce potvrdila, je neutoljiva zelja za paznjom, nesigurnost, i slichno, tako da imam opravdanje u fullu za ovaj akt (ne miniraj me more). :D

Inace videcu da zaista pocnem da koristim to C, CH i ostala SH slova, jer cesto mi se desava da ponekad napisem samo S a nekad SH, mada i to je deo istog tog haosa, ali polako, zelim da uchim i spreman sam za nove pobede. xnerd

Antifascist Attitude (2008)


 
Chinjenice govore vrlo jasno da je u svakoj ex-komunistickoj zemlji posle raspada Sovjetskog Saveza medju mladima doslo do pomame za neo-nacizmom i uopste tim ekstremnim fasistickim ideologijama, e sad zasto je to tako da se iz jednog pogubnog totalitarizma kakav je komunizam/staljinizam/titoizam srlja u totalnu suprotnost, znaci iz krajnosti u krajnost, na to moze da se odgovori na vise nachina. Naravno ima tu i neke vrste mladalachke pobune, jer obichno tako deca teze u tim pubertetskim i post-pubertetskim godinama da kontriraju svojim roditeljima, pa onda ukoliko su im roditelji bili npr. oficiri u tim komunistichkim armijama kakva je bila i JNA onda oni u inat svojim ochevima odlaze u skroz drugu krajnost tj. postaju chlanovi nekih od ekstremno desnicarskih grupa. Takvih slucajeva ima dosta i kod nas u Srbiji, jer evo ja lichno znam dosta ljudi koji su se okrenuli takvoj ideologiji ili su barem simpatizeri a znam npr. da su deca vojnih lica i slichno, mada to nikako nije pravilo. Medjutim, mi smo jedna veoma mala zemlja tako da broj takvih ekstrema i nije toliko veliki, ali svi vrlo dobro znamo kolka je Rusija danas, pa samim tim je i logichno da je problem sa mladim ljudima koji se okrecu ekstemnim ideologijama u doba ekonomske krize i siromastva daleko veci nego kod nas i daleko ekstremniji, jer dok se kod nas sve uglavnom zavrsava na omanjim tuchama i to jako retko, u ovom dokumentarcu je iznet podatak da je od 2005. pa do 2008. od strane tzv. neo-nacista stadalo cak 5 mladih ljudi za koje su ovi smatrali da su anti-fasisti. Znachi uglavnom su to bila klasichna bodenja nozevima koja se zavrsavaju smrtnim ishodom. Naravno policija ko policija - niti jedno od tih ubistava nije dovela u vezu sa sve brutalnijim sukobima naci-skinheads i anti-fa ekipa, nego su sve nagurali u omiljeni novinarski termin "huliganski obrachuni", znaci okriviti navijace za sve i taj nama vrlo poznat rad.

Uglavnom situacija u Moskvi i ostalim vecim gradovima Rusije nije ni malo naivna, i u to cete se vrlo lako uveriti ukoliko pogledate ovaj ruski dokumentarac koji su pravili ruski anti-fasisti u sospstvenoj DIY produkciji, mada kolko sam ja skonto radi se uglavnom o anarhistima i sharpovcima. Ono sto je bitno je da postoji i engleski prevod tako da ceo film moze skroz opusteno da se isprati, ima dosta svedochenja chlanova raznih anti-fa grupa, od sharpovaca, preko anarho-sindikalista, pa sve do militantnih anarhista, jer setimo se ipak je Rusija kolevka anarhizma, a zaostavshtina Bakunjina i Kropotkina koji su i sami stradali sto od monarhisticke sto od boljsevichke vlasti, je vise nego ocigledna. Nacista naravno ima mnogo, mnogo vise jer ipak je to ex-komunisticka zemlja, ali u poslednjih par godina broj anti-fasista se takodje povecao kao logichan odgovor na ucestale napade, pa cete tako ovde moci da vidite i par snimaka jako surovih ulichnih sukoba sa nacistima, gde se koriste i shtangle i baklje i sta sve ne, dok ko nas u Beogradu svi znamo kakvo je stanje sto se tice tzv. anti-fa ekipe, sto kaze nas narod : svi bi da se jebu a da im ne udje, jer kad ih vidis na ulici sa onim anarhistickim zastavama - pomislis realno : "ko su bre ova deca, brucosi neki napaljeni ili sta ?!", i onda se samo setis scena iz Grcke od zimus i zaista ti nije jasno o cemu se tu radi, kako je to moguce da ti ljudi dele istu ideologiju sa ovim ludim Grcima, ili mozda to ipak ima vise veze sa (ne)spremnoscu na direktne akcije i posledice istih ? Videla jbga zaba da se konj potkiva - te nase narodne izreke zaista zabadaju u centralu ! Jer naime, isto kao i domaci naciji, niko od navedenih nije spreman da se iscima za svoje ideje a kamoli nesto ekstremnije da uradi, a nedajboze da robija. Uostalom setimo se da je cak i onaj Davidovic, inace lider Nacionalnog Stroja, uteko u Italiju u pokusaju da izbegne zatvorsku kaznu od tricavih godinu dana i to u nekakvom banja-zatvoru u Somboru. E sad, ako vidimo da takvi koji su im starija ekipa, vodje i navodno najekstremniji nisu spremni da odleze tu godinicu, sta onda tek reci za ovu silnu decurliju iz razno-raznih organizacija da ih ne imenujem sad ? Naravno kod srpskih anti-fasista barem sto se tice Beograda stanje je jos mnogo gore, jer to su uglavnom deca burzuja, koji jednostavno ne poznaju ulicu tako dobro kao npr. Grci i ja sam uveren da kad bi i dosli u priliku da se sukobe sa ovim drugima, ja mislim da oni ne bi znali sta da rade. I tako dolazimo do zakljucka da je Beograd, uz par chasnih izuzetaka, zaista bruka sto se tiche i jednog i drugog pokreta. E sad, o Novom Sadu ovde ne bih govorio, jer na prvom mestu nisam bio tamo skoro, tako da nisam kompetentan da pricam o tim nekim dojavama da su sukobi izmedju antifa i naci ekipa redovniji, a posebno na HCpunk i ska koncertima, koje naravno obe strane rado pohode, al' ne bih zaista o tome jer nemam dovoljno pouzdanih informacija da bi bilo sta tvrdio.

No vratimo se mi na Ruse. Kada vidite ruske ekstremne desnicare, jasno vam je da to nikako nije shala, pa je samim tim i druga strana mnogo brutalnija nego ovi nasi indijanci, jer akcija uvek izaziva reakciju, znaci ili se branis, ili te jbga nema, logichno : sto je veci pritisak, otpor mora da bude jos jachi. Samim tim fasisti i anti-fasisti bukvalno hajpuju jedni druge, pa se tako i brojnost i ucestalost sukoba rapidno povecava. Pored svedochenja ucesnika u obracunima i snimaka tih protesta i tucha, ovde moze da se cuje i malo drugacija prica, gde se pojedinci bave i kao nekom vrstom edukacije putem fanzina, casopisa, letaka, na temu zasto je fasizam tolko poguban a posebno u jednoj zemlji kao sto je Rusiji gde je toliko miliona ljudi stradalo od strane nacista za vreme 2. svetskog rata. Znaci nisu svi u ovom filmu obavezno militantni, da ne bude zabune.

Jako edukativan film i veoma upozoravajuci, jer kako smo mi krenuli u Srbiji, moze vrlo lako da se desi da uskoro ovakvi incidenti krenu da se desavaju i kod nas, jer vrlo se jasno secam BGD neo-nacista 90-ih godina, nije ih bilo puno, kretali su se uglavnom u vecim grupama, a i bili su prepoznatljivi po skinhead nachinu odevanja, a i tada je ta andergraund HCpunk/OI! scena u Beogradu bila jako mala tako da smo se svi medjusobno znali na ovaj ili onaj nacin pa su sukobi bili jako retki, jer kako da se pobijes sa likom koga znas 7 godina i slichno, i sve se tada uglavnom svodilo na maltretiranja tipa 10 na jednoga i slichno, mada se neretko desavalo i obrnuto, gde su cak i BGD metalci koji su tad bili skroz drugacija ekipa od ove danasnje, tukli opusteno skinse po koncertima i ulicama, uglavnom ono sto je najbitnije niko nije ozbiljnije stradao ako ne racunamo ubistvo malog Jovanovica '97 u Beogradskoj ulici, ali to je ubistvo na rasnoj osnovi pa ne ide uz ovu prichu. I zaista, sad kad se setim 90-ih skontam da je i pored svog sranja koje se desavalo u zemlji i po ratistima, Beograd bio jedno skroz opusteno mesto za druzenje na ovakvim vidovima manifestacija, jer tada su se HCpunk i OI! koncerti odrzavali na Akademiji, u KST-u, SKC-u, ST. Jamesu i tako nekim mestima, ali su sukobi bili jako retki, a cak su se chlanovi raznih ekipa tada i druzili medjusobno. Ali danas, posle nekih 10 godina situacija kolko se meni chini se drastichno promenila, mada iskreno nisam vise aktivan po takvim desavanjima, znaci sve je otislo u ekstrem, na ulicama vise necete sresti skinse ko nekad, a bogme necete ni ove druge, svi su upali u neki gistro-kezual fazon, tako da realno ne znas ko ce kad i kako da ti naleti. Ali za sad je stanje jos mirno, da ne mrachim bas tolko jbga, a i ja kad uvatim ja ga bas preteram. Znaci nije sve CRNO, ima nesto i SIVO, a mozda se situacija i smiri, jer klinci odrastaju a sa odrastanjem ide i sazrevanje, pa i shvatanje da su sve te ekstremne ideologije bilo levice il' desnice jedno GOLEMO SRANJE, sharena laza za napaljenu omladinu koja uglavnom kopira fazon (i to veoma lose) od preko. Toliko za ovaj put, znaci ne oklevajte no pogledajte ovaj dokumentarac, jer ne moz' da shkodi. (76 min)

Ovaj HBO dokumentarac sam baš davno gled'o, al' sam ga nažalost u međuvremenu zaturio, pa sam u'vatio da kukam i patetišem kod nekih net-drugara iz SAD-a da mi ga nekako iskopaju neđe, i evo posle par meseci traganja konačno je tu ! Amerika kakvu slabo poznajemo. Jedini igrani film koji se ozbiljnije bavi ovakvim miljeom, a da ja znam za njega, je mozda GUMMO, i naravno svi oni TCM fazon horori al' to je već nešto drugo. Doduše, ovo je kao stvarni život pa je samim tim priča josh brutalnija. Znači WHITE TRASH rednek društvo i njegovi proizvodi i nus-proizvodi, ljudi koji žive po prikolicama po vukojebinama, mentalno retardirani, incest je u kući, i sve što ide uz takav izuzetno veseo okoliš.

Priča prati 26-ogodišnjeg pomalo sporog, problematičnog, ali u biti dobrodušnog mladića Stivija, koji je čitav svoj život proveo po institucijama za mentalno zdravlje, i po silnim hraniteljskim porodicama. Film je započet kao priča o njegovom otužnom životu, ali u toku snimanja Stivi je "malko" prekardašio počinivši delo koje se ne toleriše ni u jednom društvu, pa čak ni u američkom, i sad ga čeka veoma ozbiljna zatvorska kazna. Njegova porodica, majka i sestre, devojka i prijatelji su ovaj put uprkos svemu do kraja uz njega, e sad dal' je to samo zbog kamera to možemo samo da pretpostavljamo. Ako su vam se svideli dokumentarci "Paradise lost" i "Capturing the Friedmans" možda vam se svidi i priča o Stiviju iako je malo slabija od navedenih. Uglavnom film koji ne bi valjalo propustiti, jer HBO producira samo najjače socijalne drame, i tu ne mož' da se omaši. (140 min)

Ovo je više edukativan film na temu problema sa meta-amfetaminskom zavisnošću ili kako ga u SAD od milja zovu i METH, znači nije toliko surovo brutalan kao npr. "Black Tar Heroin", više je pozitivistički nastrojen, iz fazona kao ima šanse za ljude koji su navučeni. Kol'ko sam ja skont'o iz filma, METH je najbliži našem speedu, ali ovo je malo drugačiji fazon jer se puši pa izaziva totalni raspad zuba i uopšte usne duplje od tih otrova koji se oslobađaju tokom sagorevanja, a i svaka malo organizovanija budala može da ga napravi u kućnim uslovima. Eto, ko se seća scena iz filma SPUN kada Miki Rurk igra onog suludog "kuvara" u jednoj takvoj DIY labaratoriji, to je to, a jedan čovek je ovde pokazao i bukvalno koji sve sastojci su potrebni a mogu se kupiti po najobičnijim prodavnicama da bi se napravio METH, jedino što je sad problem što su ga ranije pravili od efedrina, a pošto danas efedrin nije više tako lako dostupan u SAD (zbog zlupotrebe naravno) počeli su da koriste neka ludila kojima ja ne znam imena, neke realne otrove koji su mnogo opasniji i imaju više toksično no blagotvorno dejstvo.

Uglavnom dosta kamiondžija je navučeno na meth, pa voze i po 7 dana bez spavanja, a ranije su meth davali vojnim pilotima, pa i nemačka vojska ga je koristila u 2. svetskom ratu na istočnom frontu, a postoje jasni dokazi da je i sam Hitler bio na meta-amfetaminu, samo što ga je on dobijao u vidu injekcije, a ja znam i za slučaj Džim Džounsa, ozloglašenog lidera hrišćanskog kulta "Hram Naroda" koji je se sa sobom u smrt poveo preko 800 ljudi onomad u Gvajani.

Studenti su ga takođe koristili npr. za uchenje, i još za svašta za šta je neophodna koncentracija i duže nespavanje, kao neka veštačka snaga, ali naravno zloupotreba dođe kad tad jer to je takva gudra jenostavno, mnogo te digne, isuviše, i onda danima ne spavaš, pa kad se samo jedan dan tako salomiš nije ti dobro, al' nimalo. E sad, ja ne znam koje su razlike između ovog našeg speeda ili kako su ga svojevremeno zvali u Beogradu "beli pajdo" (zbog navlačenja, ne zbog dejstva) i ove američke verzije, ali po opisu - to mu dođe jako slično, jer pravi se od efedrina a ko zna kako deluje efedrin, zna i otprilike kako METH radi, samo je kod METHa produženije dejstvo i mnogo je čistiji rad, uglavnom čuka cepa 300 na sat i sav si euforičan, "sve možeš i hoćeš" itd. Uostalom da ja ne bi sad lupetao iz tog mog skromnog iskustva sa domaćim trash speedom bolje pogledajte ovaj film, jer ja sam speed uzimao jedva nekih mesec dana a pritom išao regularno i na posao, vršio sve moguće radnje, bio hiper produktivan, ali onda jedan dan samo tako puk'o, i nisam mogao više. 7 dana reč progovorio nisam kolko sam bio ubiven, i tad mi beše kristalno jasno da to ne može da se isprati bez nekih težih posledica u vidu gubitka posla, pa i razuma, i slično. A posebno takva jedna gudra nije za anti-karakter tip osobe kao što sam ja, pa sam to zabatalio i prešao na efedrin koji je tad mogao da se kupi u svakoj teretani i bio skroz jeftin, ali ni to nije dugo trajalo jer 'oće čuka da iskoči. Znači moje iskustvo je tu zaista smešno ali i to malo kad se sad setim je bilo dovoljno pogubno da mi se smučio život i da sam naučio lekciju.

E, zato ovde imate ispovesti ljudi koji su se totalno sjebali tim, i tu su godine u pitanju, a same fotografije kako se čoveku faca izmeni za samo godinu dana uzimanja, su dovoljno odvratne da skoro svako može da shvati da to nije šala, jer samim tim nespavanjem i hiperaktivnošću se organizam preoptereti i logično je da dolazi do totalnog kolapsa pre ili kasnije. To je onaj fazon : 5-7 dana nespavanja, pa onda 2 dana hardkor mrtvila i patnje, i tako u krug, jer ne može konstatno da se uzima, mora tu i tamo da se odspava jbga. Uglavnom odvratan jedan osećaj posle samo par dana nespavanja, doduše danas baš i nisam upoznat dal' je to još uvek tako aktuelno ko tamo 2002-2003. ali kontam da danas omladina rađe uzima pajdo nego ovo, jer ko što rekoh, retko ko to može da isprati na duže staze. I sama činjenica da se ljudi pre odlučuju na smrt u najavi u vidu heroina nego na ovo zlo nam dovoljno govori, tj. svakom iole razumnom čoveku je jasno da to nije za zajebanciju.

I nije ovo tol'ko jako urađen film kol'ko je sama tema hardkor, pa ćete videti tu i jednu porodicu sa 4-oro dece gde su roditelji na methu vec godinama, i ta stanja u koja oni upadaju posle nekoliko dana konstantnog snimanja jasno ukazuju kakve su tu ekstremne promene raspoloženja u pitanju i koliko je to pre patnja nego uživanje, i ja bih sad mogo do sutra o tim "brzinama" ali to ću ipak ostaviti za neku ozbiljniju "studiju" na tu temu, jer ovo je ipak rivju dokumentarca navodno.

Narator je Val Kilmer, i priča u ovom slučaju ide na vedriju stranu za razliku od svih drugih "drug related" dokumentaraca, jer zaista sa ovim se neuporedivo lakše može prekinuti za razliku od heroina, tako da za ove ljude ima nade. A i ovo mnogo brže uništava psihički i fizički od heroina, tako da je čovek primoran da reaguje ekstremno, znači il' ideš do kraja ili skroz zabataljuješ, nema između, i to je u neku ruku i dobro jer vrlo brzo ti bude jasno na čemu si. I slobodno me ispravite ako sam napravio možda pogrešno poređenje sa speedom, jer znam da ovo postoji kod nas i u drugim oblicima (Zarubica stajl) koji su možda bliži ovom američkom METHu. (72 min)

A cautionary tale about the dangers of online anonymity, twisted true-crimer "talhotblond" focuses on an Internet love triangle in which one man killed his perceived rival, despite the fact that neither ever met their eponymous correspondent. Low-budget debut feature from L.A.-based multihypenate Barbara Schroeder builds suspense with an ingenious narrative device and solid cutting between multitudes of salacious instant messages and exclusive interviews. Unfortunately, the HD-cam docu's visual poverty, clumsy score and sound effects, and clunky re-creations undermine the overall effect. A lock for further fest action, the Seattle docu prizewinner could attract smallscreen deals before heading to DVD.

Using the fictional device of post-death narration by murdered 22-year-old Brian Barrett, the docu introduces middle-aged killer Thomas Montgomery, a married father of two in upstate New York who obsessively frequented internet chat rooms under the handle "marinesniper." He convinces "talhotblond" -- who says she's Jessi, a teen from West Virginia -- that he's an 18-year-old fighting in Iraq. When Montgomery's deception is revealed, she provokes his jealousy by taking up with his workmate Barrett. Revealing interviews with Montgomery, the prosecutor, defense attorney, Barrett's parents and most poignantly, Jessi's father flesh out the facts.

A curious young helmer tracks down the profanity-spewing subject of a two-decade-old viral video with results at once scabrously funny and uncomfortably poignant in "Winnebago Man." Festival kudos (including the docu prize at Sarasota and the audience award at CineVegas) suggest the pic's cautionary message about unwelcomed cult stardom could transcend its hipster trappings and garner modest theatrical biz ahead of guaranteed ancillary action.

During a sweltering 1988 Iowa fortnight, a loquacious fellow named Jack Rebney wrote and appeared in a series of industrial films touting the eponymous manufacturer's line of recreational vehicles. Whether it was the heat, the swarms of insects or Rebney's own hair-trigger temper that got the best of him is unclear, but a four-minute assemblage of outtakes prepared by the vengeful crew find the huckster swearing an eloquent blue streak as he flubs lines and swats flies.

"Willya do me a kindness?" is one of the few printable catchphrases to have emerged from the tape, known most commonly as "The Angriest Man in the World." Legend holds that director Spike Jonze gifted friends with dubs over the holiday season, and since it was uploaded in 2005, chunks of Rebney's blustery tirades have seeped into popular culture (Ben Affleck quotes the rant in "Surviving Christmas," of all films).

As Steinbauer prepares to track down the elusive Rebney, he considers other victims of viral videos, including the poor "'Star Wars' Kid," whose uncoordinated swings with a fake lightsaber were uploaded by "friends," and Aleksey Vayner's video resume "Impossible Is Nothing," which was posted without his knowledge and subsequently spoofed by Michael Cera. Academic Douglas Rushkoff and helmer Alan Berliner also weigh in on the phenomena.

When Rebney finally is located in a Sierra Nevada cabin, the pic strains to accommodate the deeper issues stirred by the discovery. At first mild-mannered, Rebney, now nearly blind from glaucoma, appears to play up to his rep via an at-times awkward irascibility. Even more uncomfortable is a trip to the traveling Found Footage Festival in San Francisco, where Rebney is fawned over like a rock star by self-consciously in-the-know twentysomethings.

By inserting himself into the process, Steinbauer gets points for being brave enough to stick with the story. Yet there are as many questions as answers at the fade, most involving Rebney's lone friend and true feelings about his fame.

Tech aspects are fluid.

"It Came From Kuchar" gleefully piles on everything anyone could want in a docu on the fabulous Kuchar brothers, whose deliriously campy zero-budget mellers -- with titles like "Hold Me While I'm Naked" or "Sins of the Fleshapoids" -- enlivened many otherwise somber evenings of '60s underground cinema. Critics and aficionados seek to distill the essence of the twins' work, while clips from the films in question unspool in a fever dream of compelling non sequiturs. Meanwhile, George and Mike Kuchar themselves hold forth unstoppably. A must-see for filmmakers of all persuasions, Jennifer M. Kroot's docu could spark accompanying retros.

A present-day George Kuchar collaborates with his students from the San Francisco Art Institute as they wrap the latest Kuchar extravaganza, "The Fury of Frau Frankenstein," starring a huge, purple plastic spider and septuagenarian Kuchar regular Linda Martinez (sans panties).

The chronicling of this work-in-progress is intercut with entertainingly scattershot interview snippets. The Kuchars speak about their upbringing in the Bronx, their love for Hollywood melodrama and their joint arrival on the New York underground film scene; cartoonist Bill Griffith (who admits his "Zippy the Pinhead" was based in part on George) expounds on George's comicbook artwork at Arcade, where he worked alongside R. Crumb and Art Spiegelman; Mike Kuchar discusses his trip to Nepal and his graphic erotic comics; several Kuchar "stars" such as Bob Cowan and Donna Kerness poignantly reminisce; and a host of appreciative filmmakers offer bemused encomiums.

It is hardly surprising that early exposure to Kuchar films fueled the lurid reveries of Guy Maddin and the high kitsch of John Waters. But who ever would have imagined that the Americanization of Wayne Wang could be attributed to "Thundercrack," a legendary collaboration between George and his late lover, helmer Curt McDowell, a work described by Buck Henry as "a wonderfully foul and degrading film?"

Kroot crams a true cornucopia of excerpts from the prolific brothers' output, sampling everything from their early 8mm films of the '50s and '60s such as "A Town Called Tempest" and 16mm classics like "The Corruption of the Damned," to George's more recent, video-shot "Weather Diaries," complete with impromptu commentary by Atom Egoyan.

Also analyzed is the bifurcation of the Kuchar vision, Mike's films becoming more ethereally haunting as George's plunge headlong into further fleshbound oddities.

Kroot's unlimited access to the entire Kuchar canon allows her to visually connect specific scenes with interviewees' anecdotes, and even to match particular Kuchar images to clips from the Technicolor soap operas that spawned them. In one instance, the pic cuts from a slip-clad Elizabeth Taylor in "Butterfield 8" to an identically dressed, albeit grotesquely made-up and very differently endowed femme fatale in George's "The Devil's Cleavage."

Kroot's film itself is a throwback to the good old days before skyrocketing rights costs waylaid numerous docus on actors, directors and cinematographers. With so much Kuchariana so sumptuously spread out, viewers can experience first-hand the strong sense of composition and tweaks to classical editing that gave the brothers' tortured grotesques such undeniable pathos.

"Died Young Stayed Pretty" is a colorful if scattershot sampler of rock poster artists operating outside the commercial mainstream, usually in service of music similarly off the corporate radar. Eileen Yaghoobian's documentary presents a lot of good art and entertaining personalities in a package that's diverting on a moment-to-moment basis, but lacks any organizing principal or precise point to make the whole cohere. Pic has been kicking around the festival circuit since last year, recently adding one-off gigs and short theatrical runs.

From the opening series of sound bites to the arbitrary (but amusing) fadeout, "Died Young Stayed Pretty" suggests first-time feature helmer Yaghoobian found herself with a mountain of footage she couldn't rein into a viable structure. As a result, the meandering pic never really defines its terrain. Also, oddly, there's almost no music heard (apart from Mark Greenberg's appealing original score), and no musicians interviewed, Andrew Bird aside.

Instead, we get a freeform tour of disparate North American artists and styles variably deploying surrealism, pop-culture satire, political barbs, misogyny masquerading as irony and so forth. Principal subjects include Elvis-obsessed Rob Jones, sweetly spacey Brian Chippendale and cranky Art Chantry, who, like several here, brandishes an irksome seen-it-all jadedness. Insights into craftsmanship are few; the importance of posters to music-centered communities goes underexplored, and the feature sometimes drifts off-subjectentirely. Nonetheless, personnel, graphics, opinions and anecdotes aired in this lively if diffuse package will hold the attention of viewers already attracted by theme.

The title doesn't seem to have any relevance to the subject at hand, instead paying tribute to Yaghoobian's two deceased brothers, who are pictured in a closing dedication.

Of all the unwitting participants duped into believing they were appearing in the supposed nonfiction pic that became "Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan," perhaps none have as sad a tale to tell as the Romanian townspeople who played Borat's fellow villagers and are at the center of the thought-provoking docu "Carmen Meets Borat." Yet by focusing as much -- if not more -- on her 17-year-old subject's coming of age as on the chaotic fallout of the original "Borat" shooting, vet documaker Mercedes Stalenhoef has created a resonant treatise on ambition and exploitation that will meet with praise at fests, on the tube and in ancillary.

The dirt-poor Romanian village of Glod is home to Ionela Carmen Ciorobea, who works as barmaid and clerk at the supermarket-cum-tavern owned and operated by her mother and father. Her dad is sincere in his desire to improve village life, even in the face of derision from some factions. Stalenhoef met Carmen while traveling for pleasure, prior to Fox's "Borat" shoot, and was taken enough with the teenager's predicament and dreams of going to Spain to begin planning a docu on her immediately following the vacation.

Though the helmer wasn't around when Carmen's grandfather was used as "the town mechanic and abortionist" in the first reel of "Borat," she captures the family's outrage at the finished film. Things become downright embarrassing when a German lawyer shows up with controversial ambulance chaser Ed Fagan in tow. As they down shots around the kitchen table, Fagan promises to fly them all to Los Angeles to confront "Borat" star Sacha Baron Cohen and sue him for millions of dollars.

What eventually transpires is that Carmen's dad and grandfather and Glod's mayor are pushed by Fagan into Fox's London offices, where they are summarily dismissed at the reception desk.

Meanwhile, back in Romania, Carmen finally succumbs to the sweet talk of suitor Cristi, only to discover he's been pilfering from the cash register. Though her father is crushed by circumstances and suspected by the townspeople of hoarding the spoils, things end on a cautious, high note.

Stalenhoef's relaxed approach to her subjects and their heartbreakingly honest naivete make for absorbing, provocative stuff, and the pic's tech package is tidy. Oddly enough, both Cohen and Fagan are thanked in the closing credits. Subsequently, the lawsuit was dismissed for being, no kidding, "too vague."

Ovo je priča o devojkama koje su činile samo jezgro Čarlijeve "Familije", i koje su uz pomoć Tex Watsona počinile sva Helter Skelter ubistva '69 godine. Na koji način je Čarli uspeo da "zavede" Susan Atkins, Patricia Krenwinkel i Leslie Van Houten, da počine takva zlodela kao što su Tate-LaBainca ubistva ? Kako je manipulisao, šta im je sve propovedao, kako se odvijao život u komuni Spahn Rancha, o tome svedoče na prvom mestu same devojke, danas već starije žene, Patricia Krenwinkel i Leslie Van Houten, a zatim i cure koje nisu počinile zločin, a koje su bile deo tzv. Familije kao što je npr. Barbara Hoyt. Tu je i Lynette "Squeaky" Fromme, inače meni najzanimljiviji lik, koja nije ni učestvovala '69 u ubistvima, ali je svoju odanost Čarliju dokazala 1975. kada je pokušala atentan na tadašnjeg predsednika SAD-a Geralda Forda, tako da i ona iznosi svoje viđenje SLEPE odanosti Mansonu, i sama osuđena na doživotnu robiju. Od ranog detinjtva pa do robijaških dana tj. 1994. kada su snimani ovi intervjui, ovaj dokumentarac prati živote "Mansonovih sledbenica" i pokušava da odgovori na mnoga pitanja, na prvom mestu na koji način je Čarli, tada 20-ogodišnjim devojkama uspeo da "ispere mozak" u toj meri da ih natera da učine bilo šta za njega, pa čak i da ubiju ako treba.

Znači, ovo je dokumentarac na prvom mestu o MANIPULACIJI, i koliko ona može da bude pogubna po svest mladog čoveka, uostalom i sami smo bili svedoci 90-ih kako manipulacija na jednom malo višem nivou kao što je medijska može da dovede do svekolikog ZLA, do RATA i POKOLJA. Ali tada, 60-ih, nije ni bilo toliko medija, tako da je ovaj slučaj još zanimljiviji za izučavanje i proučavanje, jer u principu osoba koja je MANIPULATIVNA, može "svoje ljude" da usmeri u kojem god želi pravcu, DOBROM ili ZLOM, mada i to je relativno - jer što je za nekog DOBRO - za drugog je ZLO, i obratno. Siguran sam da smo svi svedoci toga, da su mnogi ljudi pokušavali da manipulišu našim životima tokom svih ovih godina, neki su uspeli u tome u većoj meri, neki nisu, al' ono što je najbitnije, uspeli su da manipulišu većinom, a većina nažalost odlučuje u tzv. demokratskim društvima, i zato treba......ma bre ne treba ništa, samo treba ostati svoj, uprkos svemu, uprkos svima, makar i samo iz inata, sa svojim stavovima, pa ma kakvi oni bili. Jer kako kaze ona pesmica : "Kuda SVI - nemoj i TI, jer ko IZDA..." (42 min)

Kosovo: Can You Imagine? (2009)



Najnoviji kanadski dokumentarac o Srbima na Kosovu, zakucan srpski titl, obrati pažnju. Izbegavam da komentarišem ovakve radove jer su ciljna grupa ovakvih filmova ljudi kojima se istina plasira isključivo preko CNN-a i sličnih TV mreža, a mi odavde ionako sve ovo vrlo dobro znamo, ali ipak nije loše pogledati kako je u Kanadi to prikazano, jer je ovaj kratki dokumentarac već zaživeo po festivalima preko. Objašnjenje na engleskom imate dole. (30 min)

Kosovo: Can You Imagine? is a documentary film by Canadian filmmaker Boris Malagurski, about the Serbs that live in Kosovo and the lack of human rights that they have today, in the 21st century. Most of the Kosovo Serbs have been ethnically cleansed by the Albanians who make up the majority of Kosovo. Kosovo has been under UN administration since 1999 when NATO bombed Serbia for 78 days to halt a crackdown on ethnic Albanian separatism in its province of Kosovo.

In the years following the war, thousands of Serbs were expelled from their homes, kidnapped and killed. Their houses, cultural and religious sites were burned and destroyed. Kosovo for the Serbs is what Jerusalem is for the Jewish people. It is the cradle of their statehood, culture and religion. Most of the important Serbian Christian Orthodox monasteries are in Kosovo.

Today, Serbs still have a deep spiritual and traditional connection to Kosovo, a land which is being cleansed of everything Serbian. Most of the Kosovo Serbs are internally displaced, some of them live in small containter camps, in ghettos, all this in the heart of Europe in the 21st century.

We follow the stories of several Serbs who have fell victim to a nationalist and irredentist ideology that has a goal of creating a pure Albanian state of "Kosova" ("Kosovo" in Albanian). Serbs in Kosovo have no basic human rights. You will be shocked to learn which atrocities they have to face each day.

Koji je jad ovaj film o Kosovu, sad me blam sto sam postavio, pravio ga neki gastos '88 godiste kolko sam skonto - ajme meni, kolko je ovo lose, a narator je tek VRHDNA  :shock:

Pogledaj pa reci, ne znam ja kako to da objasnim, evo ti primera : govori neka albanka ispod nje ide ime i albanska zastava, kad govori srbin ide srpska zastava, to da se raspozna ko je tu ko valjda, naracija ochaj, hteo po ugledu na Zeitgeist ali to je verovatno taj decko sto je pravio film sam i ispricao, i mnogo je brate naivno, neubedljivo, svaki stranac ako pogleda ovo odma mu na pocetku jasno da je film pravio mladi napaljeni Srbin, nema otklona ko u onom Cheskom da moz da se kaze da je neutralana film kolko tolko, i dzaba Kanada kad pise rodjen u YU,  znaci ko DIY dokumentarac ali uz ogromnu kintu jer je dete resilo da bude reziser pa kao ajde...proverio mu ja zaledjinu, bas reko da vidim ko je taj, ima ga i na imdb-u...

THRILLA IN MANILA



za one koje zanima istorija boksa a i još nekih stvari iz 70 tih godina prošlog veka HBO je izbacio dokumentarac koji se (uglavnom) bavi ovim mečom iz ugla onog koji je izgubio, džoa frejzera.
uz intervjue sa nekim čuvenim likovima iz bokserskog sveta tog vremena i mnoštvo poznatih ali i manje poznatih arhivskih snimaka može se videti i kraći osvrt markosove žene, imelde, na ceo događaj :roll:

da ne bih sad prepričavao poznatu priču o najvećem rivalstvu u istoriji boksa, kao i o verovatno najbrutalnijem meču ikad, ovaj film je 'must have' za sve ljubitelje 'plemenite veštine' i sporta uopšte.

Jbmliga, cekaj jel to ima veze sa onim rambl in d dzangl ? S'kim je to bese boksovo Muhamed Ali ? Ili je to bilo ranije 60-ih dok je Malkolm X bio ziv ?

Nije sigurno ovo to, jer sto bi davali ime trila in manila ako vec postoji rambl in d dzangl ! U svakom slucaju hvala, ne moz da ne valja.  :D

tukli se u kongu (tadasnjem zairu)
to je onaj cuveni mec kada je ali pustio formana da ga bije dok se ovaj nije umorio.

 Kad neko umre to je odlična prilika da se malo patetiše, da se novine MNOGO bolje prodaju i tako to, a ne umire baš svaki dan faca kalibra Majkla Džeksona, tako da pre nego što krene priča kako je inscenirao svoju smrt jer su ga smorili svi redom, te bankrot, te dugovi, slava, ludilo, ja ću se umešam u ovu nekrofilsku ujdurmu, tako što postavljam jedan od dva dokumentarca koje sam, gle čuda, baš nedavno gledao na temu njegovog kontraverznog života, a povodom velike aukcije predmeta koje je on za života sakupljao, gomilao ko hrčak. Videćete, ima tu zaista bizarnih stvari, ali morao je da ih stavi na aukciju zbog tog bankrota. Ovaj britanski dokumentarac uz priču o zaista neuobičajenoj aukciji, prikazuje i ceo njegov život, uspone i padove, sve ono što volimo da gledamo, jer takvi smo mi ljudi jbga, pritajeno se radujemo tuđoj smrti, i iako i nismo bili neki fanovi za života, sad ima svi da postanemo. Naslov najbolje o tome govori, jer će sad posle njegove smrti i bukvalno biti MICHAEL JACKSON FOR SALE, na svim kioscima, na svim televizijama, na internetu, pa i ovde, samo ne znam gde da stavim cenu tj. kako ovo da naplatim ?

At the Death House Door (2008)



The one question virtually unanswerable by proponents of the death penalty scarcely needs to be repeated: But what of the situations where an innocent man is accidentally shuttled off to execution? Taking this as a cue, opponents of capital punishment believe that any margin of error, no matter how small, makes the entire enterprise suspect. One person who shares such a conviction is Carroll Pickett, minister to death row inmates at a penitentiary in Texas; for 15 years, Pickett had no reservations about presiding over executions, until that fateful day when his path crossed with that of a Hispanic man named Carlos de Luna, unjustly accused of homicide. Shortly before this - his 96th official execution - was to occur, Pickett tape recorded much of his last day with de Luna. Listening to it, he became unshakably convinced of the man's innocence, and used his inner conviction as an impetus to team up with crime reporters from the Chicago Tribune and delve into the facts surrounding De Luna's highly questionable arraignment. With their documentary At the Death House Door, James and Gilbert both tell Pickett's heart-rending story and use it as a springboard into broader penetrative issues about capital punishment.

Liberal Tel Aviv is considered the gay capital of the Middle East, while just 45 minutes away, Jerusalem is the region's historical multifaith nexus. Yun Suh's documentary "City of Borders" finds the latter city's homosexual community offers one small equal-footing intersection for Israelis and Palestinians, Jews and Muslims -- if only because gays of any background here share condemnation from all religious quarters. Focusing on a few representative individuals, well-made pic should continue to play the fest circuit through an as-yet-unscheduled PBS broadcast debut. Offshore tube sales are likely.

Sa'ar Netanel opened the Shushan bar the same day he became Jerusalem's first openly gay city councilman -- elected alongside its first ultra-Orthodox mayor, alas. (We see other conservative politicos and staffers routinely insult Netanel to his face at work.) The bar fast became popular among gay residents of all stripes, drawn to its inclusive vibe, as new friendships tore down long-held cultural stereotypes. But this proved only fleeting shelter from a hostile environment.

Boody, a young, devout Muslim and drag performer, worries he'll be forced to emigrate to save his neck. Exhibiting world-class denial, his otherwise supportive mother flatly refuses on camera to believe he's really gay.

Secular Jewish youth Adam Russo became an emboldened gay rights activist after he was one of several people stabbed by an Orthodox man at a 2005 gay-pride parade. Still, his political awakening only stretches so far, as he sees no problem in building a home for himself and his lover in a settlement in disputed occupied territory. Elsewhere, lesbian partners Samira Saraya and Ravit Geva struggle with the complications of crossing religious and ethnic lines within one relationship that's already taboo to many.

The virulence of the surrounding homophobia is daunting -- even when the 2006 parade is canceled for fear of violence, protestors riot and set fires anyway. Somewhat frustratingly, gays in nearby Tel Aviv aren't all that supportive, tending to shrug and opine that fighting for rights in Jerusalem is a pointless endeavor.

Involving personality mix and balance of intimate/public dramas make the pic seem fuller than its slim running time. The film maintains its protags' stubbornly upbeat attitude, despite the frequent hurdles and setbacks they face. Assembly is decent.

ne mogu dve recenice da sastavim - eto sta mi se desilo...

nego gledo sam ovo ko je ubio nensi i jbmliga, "tabloidan dokumentarac", radjen  na fazon cocain cowboys...nista novo, ja ocekivo CRIME, kad ono rekla kazala, a koga zanima tematika taj vec zna detalje vezane sa ovaj slucaj.

Columbine High Massacre
 
20. april 1999-te, 110 godina od Hitlerovog rođenja, država Kolorado, predgrađe Littletona, malog gradića odma' ispod Denvera, dva maloletnika, od 17 i 18 godina, naoružani do zuba ulaze u svoju školu, Columbine High School, aktiviraju bombe i pucaju na sve i svja. Eric Harris i Dylan Klebold su za nešto manje od sat vremena uspeli da ubiju 13 a da teško rane 25 đaka, da bi na kraju izvršili samoubistvo. Hladnokrvnost ova dva tinejdžera je možda najbolje prikazana u odličnom igranom filmu Gus Van Santa Elephant, koji naravno nikako nije "based on a true story", ali reference su i te kako jasne da je glavna inspiracija bio upravo ovaj incident. Kontam da je većina nas pogledala ovaj film, ali nisam siguran da je i jedan dokumentarac na ovu temu puštan na našim kablovskim kanalima, osim možda Bowling for Columbine, ali taj se dok. više bavi bolesnim kultom oružija u SAD, dok je Columbine incident tek u pozadini, i zato sam spremio 2 dva dokumentarca na ovu temu, od kojih prvi History-ev odgovara na pitanje KAKO su ova dva klinca uspela da izvedu ovakav jedan brutalan napad, znači da nabave taj tip oružija iako su maloletni, da ih niko ne izvali šta su pripremali mesecima unazad itd.etc., dok se ovaj drugi bavi meni mnogo zanimljivijom temom, naime, specijalan tim sastavljen od forenzičara i psihijatara pokušava da odgovori na pitanje ZAŠTO su uradili to što su uradili, šta im se to desilo da su se odlučili na jedan takav nezamisliv čin. I zato je jako bitno da se pogledaju oba dokumentarca, radi malo šire slike. I da, treba još napomenuti da je Columbine High Massacre inspirisao još par sličnih pucnjava po školama širom SAD. I još jedna stvar zašto bi ovo moglo nekima da bude i te kako zanimljivo, mi smo naime definitivno omašili ovu vest kada je bila aktuelna jer smo imali drugih problema, jer setimo se, ipak je to proleće 1999. godine, pa se može reći da se sa ovim incidentom rat u neku ruku preneo i na teritoriju Sjedinjenih Država...barem tog dana.

American Movie (1999)
 
Evo genijalnog dokumentarca, puštali su ga jedared na nekoj našoj televiziji, al' sigurno ste omašili, tako da evo prilike. Mark Bordchardt ima 30-ak godina i čvrsto je rešio da konačno završi svoj prvi ozbiljniji kratki horor film Coven. To snimanje traje preko 3 godine, i pomažu mu svi redom iz kraja, i porodica i prijatelji, a tu je i najveća faca u ovom filmu, ujka Bil, koji je uložio 3 soma dolara da se to konačno snimi, a i sam se pojavljuje u filmu, tj. treba da izgovori neke tri rečenice al mu nikako ne ide jer je realno na samrti pa brzo zaboravi šta je treb'o da kaže. Ludilo snimanja ovakvog fuck-budget filma je ovde do detalja prikazano, i uživaćete u tim izvalama kad npr. keva drži kameru a on kao režira a usput i glumi, pa onda njegov drugar iz detinjstva koji je skroz faca za sebe, o njemu opušteno poseban film može da se snimi, znači jedno globalno smejanje na lokalnom nivou predgrađa Milwaukee-ja. Mnogo jako, ko Clerks al' dokumentarac, sve elemente ima, bez zajebancije, Amerika koju volimo. Inače Markov omiljeni film je Teksaški masakr, pa gde ćeš više ? (107 min)

A perfect time capsule of the controversy surrounding what constitutes art in the 21st century, pic has already made waves in art and film circles and seems primed for limited theatrical play.

Enright originally approached Lipes, an up-and-coming cinematographer (Antonio Campos' "Afterschool"), with a request to shoot the video centerpiece for Enright's upcoming installation at Gotham's Perry Rubenstein Gallery. Instead, Lipes proposed a making-of docu on Enright himself creating the video artifact.

From the onset of their cross-country odyssey, Enright and Deirup take turns in front of and behind the camera, with Enright always calling the shots. Deirup films Enright kicking ferns and spitting on chandeliers; Enright, in a perhaps symbolic enactment of their respective roles, directs Deirup to dress up as a mouse in the forest and deliver her lines with squeaky gusto while she slices up Enright's feces.

If the duo's professional partnership proceeds swimmingly, personally, the relationship seems headed for disaster. Deirup worries about their mounting debts, thrusting her into the thankless part of creativity-destroying bitch. Furthermore, once they wind up quartered at a rustic forest retreat owned by Deirup's family, the creatively blocked Enright fears alienating his g.f. from her folks with his artistic shock tactics. Given the aggressive, off-putting nature of his work (he gained fame by staging violent consensual kidnappings) and his tendency to saunter on camera stark naked, this excuse for artist's block is not as far-fetched as it initially sounds.

Lipes' gorgeously shot docu ultimately registers as a deconstruction of a deconstruction, its beauty neither indicting nor celebrating Enright's abrasive aesthetic. Besides, Lipes' making-of footage is too fragmented to convey what Enright's final product actually looks like. Even when the installation premieres in New York, Lipes perversely films the audience and not the screen; he never divulges whether the show succeeds or flops, artistically or financially.

Pic suggests that one cannot judge Enright's output by his behind-the-scenes antics: Great artists and untalented poseurs alike are liable to come off as obnoxious narcissists in pursuit of their muses. Underscoring this unpredictability, Lipes ends his film with the couple united in blissed-out contemplation of their latest collaboration -- a newborn baby.

Anna Lorentzon and Barbara Bell's "Graphic Sexual Horror" looks behind the scenes at a defunct website, controversial for its depictions of extreme bondage and sadomasochistic situations. Models were consenting and paid for their trouble, even if the resulting imagery looked very much like forcibly induced pain and terror. That's made clear enough, but lack of commentary from anyone outside this subset of the commercialized fetish world means this too narrowly focused docu doesn't really address obvious larger issues of legality, misogyny, et al. Pic is traveling the fest circuit while also playing cinematheques and other specialized venues.

Brent Scott, aka "pd," started Insex.com in 1997, fast making waves among BDSM enthusiasts for going further than any prior entity in purveying disturbingly realistic images of women in severe restraints and/or apparent peril. Eventually its live video feeds and other attractions claimed 35,000 paying subscribers. Scott himself constructed many of the (carefully safety-tested) Rube Goldbergian setups, which deployed everything from electric shocks to hydrophobia (i.e. threatened drowning).

Pseudonymous models were variably drawn to participate by exhibitionism, private fantasy, psychological release from depression, a sense of artistic self-expression or a simple need for cash. Several found it so exhilarating they offered to pay Scott, rather than vice versa. Among many interviewed, only one ex-model falls into the "self-destructive drug addict" category moralists might anticipate. All were given a "safe word" that could stop activity at any time.

Intentionally raw rather than Bettie Page-style glamorous, these stagings certainly appear harrowing, especially when viewed in rapid montage here. "There was something serial-killer-esque (about the site) ... I couldn't tell if it was real or not," one fan (later turned assistant) says of his first Insex gander. But as one former Insex starlet says, "The reality of how something was made doesn't necessarily correlate with what it looks like." Footage presumably excised from the website catches models laughing or chatting casually amid purported extreme physical distress.

Scott is no sleazy back-alley raincoat type, but rather a former aspiring painter and Carnegie Mellon professor. His interest in sadomasochism and bondage stretches at least as far back as 1980. Pic also includes old performance-art clips in which he's sometimes the bound victim.

Only after an hour does the pic allows some cracks in this outre yet flattering portrait, as interviewees complain about Scott's Kubrick-level attention to detail and occasional violation of protocol. A long, creepy sequence shows him bullying a tearful, bound woman whose single line-in-sand request he's just ignored.

Post-9/11 era saw government watchdogs grow much more aggressive toward any "subversive" enterprise. Scott says Homeland Security pressured credit card companies to stop serving Insex, alleging violent pornography both teaches torture and is used by terrorists to funnel money. With payment methods now laborious, customers abandoned ship and the site folded in 2005.

Pic certainly could have used a few outside voices to measure the extent of Insex's notoriety, debate the psychological implications of such entertainment, discuss general legal issues and more. Without that larger scope, "Graphic Sexual Horror" eventually loses interest, demystifying the subject's surface shock value but failing to explore deeper societal meanings.

Straightforward assembly is pro. One ironic plus is the pristine lensing of the gorgeous New England countryside where, in a converted barn, Scott maintained his little workshop of quasi-"Saw" horrors.

I'll admit right off the bat that I don't know that much about classical music or opera, but the two composers I know the best are Mozart and Beethoven, both of whom have been the subjects of two fascinating documentaries by director Phil Grabsky. In 2006, he released IN SEARCH OF MOZART, an extensive and thought-provoking work that wisely featured long stretches of Mozart's music surrounded by analysis by musicians and conductors, who placed the works in context. On its surface, the film was a biography, but the musical selections and dissection of the music made it a wonderful journey through Mozart's life that went beyond the eccentricities and took us into the emotional heart of his works. It seems only proper that Grabsky has not turned his attention to one of Mozart's most popular admirers, Ludwig van Beethoven with the doc IN SEARCH OF BEETHOVEN, which uses a similar structure to the Mozart movie but with somehow even more emotional punch. Or perhaps it just feels that way because the subject himself was such a creature of feeling and sensitivity.
Once again loading his film with loads of gorgeous (and often familiar) musical performances (55, according to the press notes) and excellent interviews with Beethoven disciples, Grabsky's latest work, which makes its American premiere at the Gene Siskel Film Center for a four-week run, puts all of the composer's into a context and perspective that quite simply makes the casual classical music listener a lot more invested in this lovely material. I didn't know who a single one of the experts who converse about Beethoven were, but Grabsky has assembled quite the knowledgeable bunch. If names like Emanuel Ax, Claudio Abbado, Fabio Luisi and Sir Roger Norrington mean any thing to you, you'll be in heaven during IN SEARCH OF BEETHOVEN.
I think even more than the Mozart film, IN SEARCH OF BEETHOVEN maps out Beethoven's extensive and extended life, loves and works, and pulls them all together in a chronology that helps each part of Beethoven's life make sense of the other part. He had a habit of falling in love with women who were out of his social class, he was often in ill health, he was a deeply spiritual man, and he didn't become fully deaf until much later in his life than I was aware. The film also explains why it may have taken Vienna and the world a little longer to appreciate Beethoven's genius in light of all of Mozart's accomplishment shortly before Ludwig became more popular. It seems obvious in a biography to do such things, but you'd be surprised how many films about artists don't. I wouldn't be surprised if PBS snatched up this film and aired it soon. It's a marvelous work and a worthy successor to Grabsky's previous effort.

27. jula će biti tačno 2 godine od notorious "jabukovačkog masakra", kada je pshički oboleli Nikola Radosavljević krenuo u krvavi pohod kroz svoje selo i iz lovačke puške ubio 9-oro svojih komšija, da bi na kraju, na groblju, pokušao i sebi da oduzme život. A setimo se, tog bolesno toplog leta 2007. su se desila još neka zaista užasna ubistva, setimo se i Novih Banovaca, pa onda ono ubistvo cele prodice u Žarkovu, itd.etc. Uglavnom jedna jako zajebana godina, a posebno gadno leto, pa evo i meni je ta 2007. donela samo užase, nezamislive horore, i sad kad razmišljam pa to mi je realno najgora godina u dosadašnjem životu, naravno uz '99, i period od 2002. do kraja 2004. Mada meni je cela ova decenija pogubna, pa i prošla, ja bi ako može da se vratim u 80-e, evo sve bi dao, a to malo morgen nažalost. Nazad na temu, ovaj dokumentarni serijal koji je režirao Dejan Zečević, inače autor TT Sindroma, kol'ko sam ja upućen, su puštali već 2 puta na TV-u, al' kontam da ima i onih koji nisu TV fanatici ko ja, pa su umesto gledanja ovakvih "boleština" izašli to veče u grad ili već gde. Stoga - evo ga, i mislim da nema potrebe da pojašnjavam zašto se ovo ZLO desilo u Jabukovcu, nema potrebe da pišem o tome kako psihijatrijske ustanove ne rade svoj posao, da država ne haje za psihički obolele osobe na pravi način, i onda kad čovek tako pukne ko nesretni Nikola Radosavljević svi se nađu u čudu, i niko nije znao, niko nije odgovoran i slične vadilice, jer činjenica je, da su ga lečili na vreme on garantovano ne bi postao ubica, i ne bi danas imali toliko porodica zavijenih u crno, to je jasno ko dan. Pa koliko bre ljudi ima u Srbiji sa istom tom psihijatrijskom dijagnozom pa nisu nikoga ubili niti nameravaju ?! Ali nažalost, u Srbiji, i ne samo u Srbiji, je sramota priznati da imaš psihički problem, a kamoli otići kod psihijatra, niko neće da se leči a bolesnih svuda, i previše, mada nije ni čudo da smo ko narod pukli psihički s'obzirom šta se sve dešavalo na ovim prostorima u poslednjih 20 godina. Ko što sam pisao ranije, ako me sećanje ne vara, u Hrvatskoj ima zvanično 200.000 obolelih od PTSP-a, a kod nas bre ko da ništa nije ni bilo, ladno svi zdravi. I onda se neki još pitaju otkud toliko visoka stopa tzv. porodičnih ubistava u Srbiji, a bolnice nam više liče na štale i zatvore no na ustanove za lečenje, e zato. U svakom slučaju, skroz ozbiljan dokumentarac sa vrlo upečatljivo urađenom rekonstrukcijom, prvi ovakav u Srbiji, i iskreno se nadam da će ih biti još (dokumentaraca, ne ubistava). (147 min)
