Azumi
« on: 21-11-2009, 19:36:54 »

PRISMS (The Ultimate Manga Guide) daje kratak sinopsis:

Quote
In the Edo period. A swordswoman Azumi, who was raised as an assassin among boys of same background and of about same age since her infancy, defeats enemies continuously as her old master orders her, and she finally gets close to the last target. A variety of formidable swordsmen are challenging Azumi for a one on one fight. Even the feudal government employs assassins to get her. Can lonely Azumi finally find a place to live peacefully? It's a long series but there is no filler at all. In the artwork, backgrounds are very detailed. The faces of characters are unique and easily distinguishable. Lines are varying in thickness, like being drawn by a letter brush.

Serdar Yegulalp uvodi svoju kolumnu What You're Missing o mangama i animeima koji nisu videli svetlost engleskog prevoda upravo sa Azumi.

Vremenom ću predstaviti ovo delo u punom sjaju.

Q. You said that, for the movie "Azumi" it was better to film on the spot than to work with animation. Why is that?

A. You know, I'm particularly picky about swordplay scenes, and I hate it to fall back on patterns there. If you assign an animator with the creation of such a scene, you can easily predict what it will look like. Even in the case of filming, one has to be careful to choose a director who's familiar with such type of action. After all, it's pure self-satisfaction, but at least I want to show in detail the process of a sword fight, so people can follow the two rivals' movements right until the end.

Takođe je zanimljivo i:

You see, I'm not a painter, so in my drawing style there is no such thing as evolution. I'm drawing as if I was putting on paper scenes from movies.
