"There's a lot of fun things we do with sunflowers," Shuman enthuses. "I think the whole idea of 'corn' was already done in SIGNS and I don't want to explore that. That was done really, really brilliantly by M. Night and I'm not looking to copy him. We want this movie to be something on its own. Sunflower fields, which people probably aren't that familiar with, are exciting to us because visually, sunflower fields are really creepy with the whole way sunflowers work and how they move – the heads of the sunflowers move towards the sun and seem to come alive in their own right. It's very creepy. I think we've come up with a good story that will not be what you think it is. Even though I'm saying it's THE SHINING and that may seem like oh-I've-seen-that-before-and-I-know-where-that's-going, it really has a lot of twists and turns that I think are really cool."

pa dobro, ali nemoj prevideti da je to verovatno najinventivniji petak 13-ti (sem mozda 7-ce, koja je verovatno i najjaca, gde se jason konfrontira sa devojkom paranormalnih moci). ako nista taj todd farmer se verovatno ludo provodio dok je pisao scenario (mora biti da je bio nadrogiran kao skot), desetka izemesta sagu o serijskom ubici u daleku buducnost i deluje gotovo kao blaga kopija prvog aliena (samo sa dzejsonom), poprilicno modernisticki snimana (uvodna spica gde kamera kruzi dzejsonovim telom solidno podseca na neki linchov tvin piks)
Neko tamo mora da se zeza...
I ja to cesto pomislim citajuci najave novih filmova. Kako drugacije prokomentarisati onu cuvenu najavu kako ce I am Legend rezirati Michael Bay, sa sve Will Smith-om u glavnoj ulozi (!?), ili jos bolje (i aktuelnije), cinjenicu da je u toku snimanje rimejka The Texas Chainsaw Massacre-a, u produkciji tok istog glupavog Bay-a, i u reziji njegovog MTV kolege Marcusa Nispela (tip koga su sutnuli sa snimanja End of Days).

Cak i filmovi koji vrede budu skartirani od studija, kao npr. Below, za koji je nesrecni Twohy morao sam da radi kompletni marketing i da pravi sam svoj sajt jer su kreteni iz Dimensions-a film vec unapred otpisali (naravno, film je komercijalno propao).

BTW pre par godina se pricalo o "I Am Legend" sa Svarcijem u glavnoj ulozi, mislim da bi i to bilo bolje nego Will Smith.. Ovako mozemo da ocekujemo apsolutno nepotreban humor .. tj "humor"..
Nisam siguran da li je to bas to ime, ali tip koji je prvobitno trebalo da radi End of Days je fucking genije. On je hteo da napravi akcione sekvence never-before-seen-in-a-movie-ever, sa sve 120 kamera koje snimaju istovremeno, itd. Needless to say, nisu hteli da mu daju to da radi, pa je tip otisao (ovaj nije bio "sutnut"). Naravno, i scenario je tada bio dosta drugaciji.
Cisto da ocistim ljagu sa obraza jednog coveka.
E sad, kako su mali spajder i njegova arahnidska braca videla End of Days kad su culi najavu i plot filma:
Znaci, poslednje scene: Svarca u svom metalnom, konan-ali-vise-fetish outfitu drzi satanu za kragnu - par centimetra iznad zemlje - i repetitivno mu zabija svoju glavu u nos. DAM!, DAM!, DAM!
Sve se to dogadja na litici pakla, dole iz mracne, odvratne zelenjave vode proviruje nakot demona (bas su nam licili na orke u gospodarima kad smo ih zamisljali) koji navijacki vicu:
"SWAR-CA! SWAR-CA! SWAR-CA! SWAR-CA! SWAR-CA!.."
Ja se iskreno nadam da ce bar malo te genijalnosti doci do izrazaja u filmu koji snima; uostalom David Fincher je pokazatelj da ne treba tek tako otpisivati spotovske reditelje. :)
Ali...
Ono sto mene tu brine je ostatak ekipe, a posebno vec pomenuti Bay. Pogledao sam na IMDB-u i ostale detalje i ne sluti na dobro...
Kao prvo, budzet je 13 miliona$, ako stvarno rade RIMEJK originala, stvarno ne znam na sta ce da utrose te silne novce (mozda na honorar Marilyn Manson-u koji radi na muzici?). Ali, mozda se varam, mozda i scenaristi imaju koji adut u rukavu?

Jedini iz originakne ekipe je direktor fotografije Daniel Pearl, a Tobe Hooper i Kin Henkel se tu spominju samo kao kreatori likova na kojima se film zasniva (posto je film bar nominalno rimejk).
U svakom slucaju ne moze biti gore od one rimejkoparodije Texas Chainsaw Massacre - The Next Generation. :x

Milose, vec se na ovom forumu raspravljalo o rimejku (pff..."rimejku") I am Legend. Ja i jos par ljudi (ghoul, joca?) smo citali prvi odbaceni draft scenarija koji godinama kruzi netom, a napisao ga je Mark Protoshevic. Po meni kada bi neka faca (anyone said Fincher?) rezirao po tom draftu, imali bi odlican action-horror movie sa dobrom karakterizacijom i odlicnim ritmom. Jos kad bi glavnu ulogu igrao neko tipa Kevin Spacey, eto nama hita. (Ako nemas ovaj scenario, a zanima te, baci mi mail adresu na pm.)
Nazalost, scenario je odavno odbijen, i kako je svaka nova vest o eventualnom grinlajtovanju filma dolazila, svi smo se grozili (will smith kao glavni glumac? zar to ne ubija jednu od metafora samog romana???).
Licno, kao sto gledam sav novi krs, ako se i ovaj krs napravi odgledacu ga kao sto odgledam svaki krs - na piratu.

He was married to Exene Cervenka and knows all the right people to get involved – all the right punk rocker etc – so he would definitely be involved if we go ahead."
Wouldn't that technically be a second remake, since there's only been one? Whatever, it's still the most idiotic thing he could possibly have said. Everyone that I know shudders with disgust when Gus's original remake is mentioned, how violently pissed off are fans going to be if he tries another one?

U tom slučaju, neću da vas deprimiram podatkom da je i sam Romero kazao nedavno nešto slično, u stilu SIGNS - odličan film, suptilan, jeziv, i tako to...
Kad pogledam pretežno odlične i vrlo dobre kritike tog filma, te činjenicu da na svim bitnijim horor sajtovima ozbiljno figurira u samom vrhu prošlogodišnjih lista, padam u iskušenje da pomislim kako postoje dve drastično različite verzije – jedna besmisleno smišljena i napisana, loše režirana i glumljena i sa namerno idiotskim dijalozima kako bi se procenilo HOW LOW CAN YOU GO AND GET AWAY WITH IT (i to je ona koju smo ovde videli), a druga je suptilan, stravičan, napet, uzbudljiv, promišljen, odlično glumljen i INTELIGENTAN film koji je prikazivan u Americi...
Dao bih mali prst leve ruke za tri pasusa texta o tom trainwrecku od filma iz pera DAVIDA CRONENBERGA! To bi bilo zabavno pročitati.
Covek snima film i verovatno ga nije ni gledao.
Ali volim da zamisljam da bi zvucao kao Bill Hicks pricajuci o jednom uzasno hypovanom filmu sa samog pocetka devedesetih.

The zombies escape in a van and into a rural area, where they come up against Debbie and her family. The story doesn't stay there, however, because I didn't want this to be like the first film. Besides zombies, there's a sheriff and his deputy trying to figure out what's going on, and some neo-Nazis who get mixed up in the action. There are a lot of twists and turns to the story, plus our heroine on horseback, motorcycles and zombies slipping on soap! It's one thing after another. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Ving Rhames and Sarah (NO SUCH THING) Polley have joined the cast of the DAWN OF THE DEAD remake, which rolls for Universal next month under the helm of video director Zack Snyder, from a script by James (SCOOBY-DOO) Gunn. Polley will play a young nurse and Rhames a police officer who, along with a Best Buy employee, a gangbanger and his pregnant girlfriend, get locked in a mall after a mysterious plague (shades of 28 DAYS LATER) causes the dead to rise and eat the living. Lyricist Shaun McKenna and composer Stephen Keeling are working on the show right now, with a 2005 West End debut being eyed. Honestly, beyond the initial shock of the bizarre, LOTR is operatic enough to lend itself to the musical genre, although its length might be something of an issue. Still, tell me you wouldn't pick up this cast recording CD just so you can say you have it. Anyway, London has seen odder productions lately - such as the current Jerry Springer: The Opera. Seriously.

Dobro, Hollywood je ocigledno tek sad otkrio da su se 70-ih snimali najbolji filmovi pa su resili da to obilato eksploatisu. Posle rimejka Teksaskog Masakra (snima se), Dawn of the Dead (u pripremi) i Suspirie (najavljeno), dosao je na red jos jedan (nekadasnji) majstor zanra - John Carpenter. I dok Carpenter snima sve i svasta, i zivotari na staroj slavi (je li neko primetio kako su mu prosli poslednjih nekoliko filmova, na box-office-u su figurirali samo prve nedelje, a onda potpuno nestali sa lista, taman da svi fanovi pogledaju, a onda mrtvo more...), neko je resio da 'podgreje' i Napad na 13 Policijsku Stanicu.

It never ends... Focus Features is backing a remake of John Carpenter's ASSAULT ON PRECINCT 13. The update will take place in the present day and be set in "a precinct made obsolete by the industrialization of its surroundings," according to sources. The story concerns a notorious mobster being temporarily held at the about-to-be-closed station house, where a group of cops and cons is forced to battle a vicious gang determined to break him out. James (THE NEGOTIATOR) DeMonaco is scripting the film, which will be co-produced by Stephane Sperry's Liaisons Films and Pascal Caucheteux's Why Not Productions (why not? We've got a few reasons...). No director has yet volunteered to try to outdo Carpenter.

The next Batman is...Kelso? God help us all if this is actually true, but E Online is claiming that Ashton Kutcher is, in fact, the studio's one and only choice to be the next caped crusader. Ugh! I Think I'm gonna be sick. They go on to say: "As a responsible journalistic outlet, we have to ask: How the hell did this happen?! Well, when now out director Brett Ratner got close to casting Superman this year, he tested and retested Kutcher, who apparently did well. The "known mostly as a comic actor and that's even a stretch" Kutcher seemed to want Bats over Supes (who wouldn't?) and is now close to being announced as the lead in the flick to be directed by Christopher Nolan". But notice before when I said "the studio's" choice... ah yes, there is a catch! A scooper over at Dark Horizons has noted that "Christopher Nolan wants Guy Pearce. I think that's about the extent of it. Essentially, the studio has had another 'Ratner' situation on their hands, because the director wants someone, and the studio wants someone else." and added that "from what I hear Kutcher is the new Batman. Done deal". Oh no! Please, please pretty please, Guy Pearce, step up and do fandom a huge favor by showing Warners that you would be the better (if not best, but I'm still holding out for Clooney to get a "legit" shot at the role) choice to be the next Dark Knight! Besides, Kutcher's already got Demi Moore in the sack, I think he should quit while he's ahead, don't you?
Did the power of Satan compel them? Sci Fi Wire reports that Warner Bros. has sold remake rights to THE EXORCIST to its sister cable TV stations TNT and TBS. As a result, director William Friedkin and William Peter Blatty are suing the studio—but over lack of payment of profits from the movie, not due to creative concerns. While the idea of redoing THE EXORCIST for a basic cable station might seem like an impossibility, bear in mind that TNT just wrapped a televersion of SALEM'S LOT (tentatively scheduled to air next summer), so it's clearly not put off by horrific material. In any case, the Friedkin/Blatty/Warners case has a trial date set for July 14. Just for the record, Blatty himself once planned to write and direct an EXORCIST remake for Fox TV.

Celebrated commercials helmer Adam Berg is in talks to make his feature directing debut on Videodrome, the remake of the 1983 David Cronenberg-directed film that is set up at Universal Pictures. Ehren Kruger scripted the remake and is producing with partner Daniel Bobker.
The new picture will modernize the concept, infuse it with the possibilities of nano-technology and blow it up into a large-scale sci-fi action thriller.
