Ni ja ne stojim sjajno sa pročitanih 11 naslova, ali bih bar još 8-9 kupio bez razmišljanja, kad bih naleteo na njih, tj kad bi ih naši izdavači izdali ili reizdali.
(Inače, sem u retkim slučajevima, čitam samo knjige koje su u mom vlasništvu.)
Otkud Magle Avalaona ovako visoko? Nisam znao da to smatraju tako značajnim romanom?
Alex, ovo je samo jedna od lista bez ikakvog kriterijuma. Tačnije, jedini kriterijum je da su napisane na engleskom i da su skoro sve američke. Znači lista dolazi sa američkog, autističkog područja. Sastavili su je ljudi koji slabo poznaju SF, jer nema nekih važnih knjiga sa engleskog jezičkog područja. Da ne govorim o ostalim jezicima, koji za njih i ne postoje. Tako, nemoj da brineš ako nisi mnogo čitao sa ove liste, jer i nije neka.
Ono što me dojmi najviše je da je preko 60% ovoga objavljeno kod nas.
Počeo sam da kopam po bazi narodne biblioteke (http://vbs.nbs.bg.ac.yu/scripts/cobiss?command=CONNECT&base=70000), ali nije baš lagana za pretragu...
a i nije da su izdavači uredno prijavljivali šta rade :D

Ja ne mogu ovo ovako da radim. Moram da ostavim i poneki komentar...
1. The Lord of the Rings, J.R.R. Tolkien Meni draga knjiga iako nisam neki besni ljubitelj herojske fantastike. Ipak, ovo je vrlo lepo napisana knjiga
2. The Foundation Trilogy, Isaac Asimov Čitao u nežnim tinejdž godinama i u ono vreme mi sedopao koncept psihoistorije. Asimov je pisac ideja, ali ovde zaista ima dobrih ideja. Naravno, njegov najbolji roman je ipak Gods Themselves
3. Dune, Frank Herbert Surova sapunica. Ali solidno napisana i sa ponešto dubljom simbolikom nego što bi čovek očekivao
4. Stranger in a Strange Land, Robert A. Heinlein Moj otac se surovo ložio na Hajnlajna i uvek sam u kući imao brdo njegovih knjiga, ali iz prkosa nisam pročitao ni jednu. Pa ni ovu.
5. A Wizard of Earthsea, Ursula K. Le Guin U ono vreme bila mi je sasvim OK. Manje akcije, više simbolike. Malo 'ženskasta' knjiga, što valjda i nije neko čudo kad je autor levičarsko-feminističke provinijencije, ali ne i rđava.
6. Neuromancer, William Gibson Bojim se da i danas imam soft spot za ovaj roman. Vrhunski palp sa moćnom vizijom i simbolikom koja daleko nadlazi većinu SF romana iz onog vremena. I najbolja prva rečenica svih vremena.
7. Childhood's End, Arthur C. Clarke Po Zoranu Živkoviću, jedan od sedam romana koji su SF iz trivijalne pretvorili u pravu književnost. Klark je par decenija kasnije ovladao spisateljskim zaatom znatno bolje, ali ovaj roman barem ima viziju i ambiciju i, za svoje vreme, zapravo nije loš. Ali zaista nema neku preveliku literarnu vrednost.
8. Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, Philip K. Dick Zaista jedan od boljih Dikovih romana (mada lično preferiram Ubik, Stigmate i Skeniranje). Atmosfera toliko depresivna da boli dok čovek čita, naivnjikava ali moćna satira, fantastično pesimistična završnica i jedan od najuspelijih prkaza raspada realnosti usred romana, gde mu mesto nije. Razlog više da prezirem Blade Runner.
9. The Mists of Avalon, Marion Zimmer Bradley Bojim se da ne... Imam, moja žena je pročitala i nije bila oduševljena (ali ni zgađena), ali nekako nisam uspeo da se nateram.
10. Fahrenheit 451, Ray Bradbury Nope... Mea Culpa... Nisam čak gledao ni film...
11. The Book of the New Sun, Gene Wolfe Ovo sam započeo, iščitao prvi deo, stigao do kraja drugog i shvatio da me apsolutno boli dupe za likove i da me ni malo ne zanima rasplet radnje koja je ionako postala prezapletena za moj kratki attention span. Batalio
12. A Canticle for Leibowitz, Walter M. Miller, Jr. Smelo, inspirisano, pa čak i solidno literarno. Naravno da Miller nije VELIKI pisac, ali ovaj roman je bio drugačiji od stvari iz svog vremena. Čak i uz mnoge slabe strane.
13. The Caves of Steel, Isaac Asimov Huh??? Šta će ovo ovde??? Pristojan asimovljevski palp roman, kakve je Isak u ono vreme umeo da iskenja i po nekoliko godišnje.
14. Children of the Atom, Wilmar Shiras Sem ako ovo nije strip o X-men, nemam pojma šta je u pitanju.
15. Cities in Flight, James Blish Počeo, stigao do drugog dela, stao. Previše ideja, premalo likova za moj blazirani ukus.
16. The Colour of Magic, Terry Pratchett Zapravo, ova knjiga je vrlo neuredna, haotično napisana i zanatski nespretna. A domaćem izdanju nije pomogao ni Papićev prevod. Pračet je tek nekoliko romana kasnije ovladao spisateljskom veštinom i postao ZAISTA dobar.
17. Dangerous Visions, edited by Harlan Ellison Zapravo mislimd a nikada nisam pročitao SAM Dangerous Visions, ali sam sigurno sve priče pročitao po raznim Siriusima, Monolitima, Alefima i kojekakvim drugim magazinima. Mnogo dobrih priča i vizija, zaisa.
18. Deathbird Stories, Harlan Ellison Hm... Verovatno sam većinu priča pročitao po magazinima, ali ni ne znam koje su ovde.
19. The Demolished Man, Alfred Bester Da i bio impresioniran filipdikovštinom deceniju pre Filipa Dika. Solidno zbunjujući roman (pogotovo u domaćem skraćenom izdanju) čiji se simbolički učinak danas može učiniti nejasnim.
20. Dhalgren, Samuel R. Delany WTF??? Nikad nisam ni čuo za ovaj roman.
21. Dragonflight, Anne McCaffrey Uhhh, bojim se da nikad nisam uspeo da se nateram da čitam sapunicu o zmajevima...
22. Ender's Game, Orson Scott Card Još uvek za mene najbolja stvar koju je Kard napisao. Snažno i uznemirujuće (mada, naravno, kad se sve sabere i oduzme, ekstremno neuverljivo sa čisto logičke strane). Plus, siguran sam da je Metalika svoju pesmu Harvester of Sorrow bazirala na ovom romanu.
23. The First Chronicles of Thomas Covenant the Unbeliever, Stephen R. Donaldson Nope, a za to krivim Bobana koji je javno izrekao ono o čitanju po pet redova na svakoj strani da bi se bez napora pratila radnja romana.
24. The Forever War, Joe Haldeman Meni je ovo i danas jedan od najdražih SF romana ikad jer je izmešao miris i ukus MASH i Catch 22 sa tvrdim SF-om. Nije baš Remarque ili Hemingway, ali nije to ni danas loše. Raosov prevod u Monolitu je, pamtim, bio dobar.
25. Gateway, Frederik Pohl I dalje najbolji roman koji je Pohl napisao. Čak i kad se uzme u obzir da su neke fensi stvari iz onog vremena (psihoanaliza i simbolika snova) danas bespomoćno staromodne, ovo je i dalje moćna, potresna knjiga o granici.
26. Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, J.K. Rowling Ne.
27. The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Douglas Adams Smešno, bizarno, zabavno i maštovito. Adams je izmislio čitav jedan literarni pravac, što se mene tiče.
28. I Am Legend, Richard Matheson Paaa... Solidno. Aliu osnovi glorifikovani palp.
29. Interview with the Vampire, Anne Rice Ne.. Mislim, naravno da ne.
30. The Left Hand of Darkness, Ursula K. Le Guin zaista jedan od najboljih Ursulinih romana čak i posle neke četiri decenije. Jeste, oseća se ovde zastareli miris 1967. i 1968., ali ovo je Ursula u vreme kada naprosto nije uela da napiše ništa loše. Moj favorit je ipak The Dispossessed
31. Little, Big, John Crowley Nemam pojma ni šta je ovo.
32. Lord of Light, Roger Zelazny Sjajna kombinacija postmodernističkog baratanja mitologijom i akcione priče. Jedan od najboljih Zelaznijevih radova na tu temu. Ipak, Creatures of Light and Darkness ga šije na mojoj lestvici sa vidnom razlikom.
33. The Man in the High Castle, Philip K. Dick Maštovito, snažno i vrlo depresivno. Ipak ne i psihodelično razigrano kao njegovi (meni) najbolji romani.
34. Mission of Gravity, Hal Clement Ovoga ne mogu da se setim. Vrlo verovatnod a ga jesam pročitao ali...
35. More Than Human, Theodore Sturgeon Uh, da. Prvi put kada sam ovo pročitao bio sam patosiran (doduše, nisam imao više od 11-12 godina). Ali i na ponovljena čitanja, ovo je jaka, moćna knjiga o evoluciji u kojoj likovi, ma koliko tanki bili, deluju uverljivo i ne lome se pod težinom ideja. A ideje su DIVLJE.

37. On the Beach, Nevil Shute Nope. Šta je uopšte ovo??
38. Rendezvous with Rama, Arthur C. Clarke Mda... Klark malo naučeniji spisateljstvu i u istraživanju omiljenog motiva prvog kontakta. Solidno, mada ne neka velika književnost.
39. Ringworld, Larry Niven Ne...
40. Rogue Moon, Algis Budrys Ne... Mada bi trebalo, siguran sam..
41. The Silmarillion, J.R.R. Tolkien Ne... Nisam baš toliki fan herojske fantastike...
42. Slaughterhouse-5, Kurt Vonnegut Ne.. I zbog toga sebe krivim čitavog života.
43. Snow Crash, Neal Stephenson Paaa... Knjiga koja je prepuna ideja i zbog toga zanimljiva. Ali u kojoj likovi skoro da ne postoje...
44. Stand on Zanzibar, John Brunner Ne..
45. The Stars My Destination, Alfred Bester Snažno i ambiciozno, kako se od Bestera i očekuje. Neki od trikova koje on koristi danas su opšte mesto naučnofantastičnih radova svih žanrova, ali i bez toga, ovo je dbar roman.
46. Starship Troopers, Robert A. Heinlein Ne, videti gore.
47. Stormbringer, Michael Moorcock Bojim se da sam ja vrlo nekritički nastrojen prema Murkoku i da sam sklon da ga čitam čak i kada piše smeće. A saga o Elriku čak i nije smeće..
48. The Sword of Shannara, Terry Brooks Da i ne mogu da kažem, voleo sam ovo kad sam bio klinac, ali, mislim, come on, ovo je Lord of the Rings lite....
49. Timescape, Gregory Benford Benford je zaista retka zverka. Cutting edge naučnik koji pritom ima i realan spisateljski talenat. Možda najbolji njegov rad i definitivna knjiga o putovanju kroz vreme (ili jedna od, barem).
50. To Your Scattered Bodies Go, Philip Jose Farmer Početak od koga čovek pljusne na dupe i kraj posle koga baci knjigu (ili Alef u našem slučaju) u zid i počne da psuje kao kočijaš. kada sam ovo pročitao zarekao sam se da ću Farmera, ako ga ikada sretnem na bilo kom od svetova, gadno da išamaram.

Zato mi se činilo poznatim...
Meho, osim generacijskog rata, što toliko mrziš Hajnlajna? Mislim, daleko od toga da je moj omiljeni pisac, ali je on dugo bio dobra polazna tačka za dečake od 15 godina da se upecaju za SF...
Ma, ne mrzim ga, pošto ga nisam ni čitao. Mislim, pročitao sam ukupno, recimo 2-3 priče koje je on napisao ali sam tada već verovatno imao nekih 16-17 godina i delovalo mi je kao kompetentan, ali generički high-SF. Valja uzeti u obzir da sam pre toga već iščitao stvari poput Dune, More than Human ili Gods Themselves i da sam od SF-a želeo više.
Hoću reći, da sam na njega naleteo kad sam imao 12 godina, sigurno bih ga zavoleo, ali moj engleski tada još nije bio dovoljno dobar, bojim se, a sve pomenute očeve knjige bile su (i još uvek su) na engleskom.
Ne razumijem kakva je to lista, a da na njoj nema Saše Kerkeza :x (doduše, možda on i nije pisao romane, ali nevertheless...)
A jel taj TIMESCAPE roman po kojem je snimljen onaj izvanredni film sa Džefom Danijelsom?
Slutim da nije.
Slažem se... svako ko zanemaruje Megapolis, jeste za posmatranje...

Nekim naslovima ovde prosto nije mesto, a neki pisci se i ne spominju. Ako Asimov drzi dva mesta, od kojih je jedno totalno imbecilna knjiga "Celicne pecine", a nema mesta za Lemov "Solaris" ili Dilejnijevu "Novu", onda mislim stvarno...
Takodje su diskutabilni bledunjavi klonovi Tolkina: Tomas Kovenant i Mac od Sanare-obe knjige su mediokriteti u najboljem slucaju...Sta "intervju sa vampirom" trazi ovde? Pa to nije cak ni prosecna knjiga...Licno, mislim da je Benford mogao biti bolje zastupljen i nekom drugom knjigom, recimo "U okeanu noci".Nema Disovog "Logora koncentracije"? Ali ne mogu da oprostim nedostatak Roberta Silverberga dok je recimo, prisutan totalno precenjeni Hoze Farmer sa svojim dosadnim romanima...

8. Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, Philip K. Dick - Zanimljivo, mada Dik moze i bolje. Odlicno da se uporedi sa filmom.

Nema Orvela na mjestu broj 1, nema "Dana Trifida", nedostaju klasici kao Zil Vern i Herbert Dzordz Vels, ne vidim Hakslija, skandalozno odsustvo "Hiperiona" i "Reklamokratije", da ne govorimo o Stanislavu Lemu, Braci Strugacki ili o tome da nema "Kolevke za macu", nema ni "Kontakta"... kad bi razmiasljao jos 5 minuta, svasta bi mi palo na pamet. Jedna bla bla lista, ali odlicno je da ljudi daju komentare kako bi sortirao po prioritetima ono sto nisam citao (i nabavio, jel :)). Pozdrav.
P.S. Tek sad vidjeh da je lista od 53-06... oh, well, trebali su da ukljuce i klasike, koga je briga za godinu.
Sad primjetih da se danas navrsavaju tacno 4 godine mog boravka na ovom forumu (jedinog na kome tu i tamo postujem u pauzi manjoj od pola godine). Slava mi (a i svima vama). Pozdrav!

Onako, u retrospektivi... zaboravi da sam ti to rekla. Verovatno sam htela da naglasim kako je to Rajsovoj jedini čitljiv roman. Mada jeste onako dža-bu, ipak ima dovoljno potencijala da se dogura do zadnje korice.(a film je zapravo kompilacija nekolicine njenih romana... ili odabranih i najboljih delova iz nekolicine romana... i bolji je nego ceo njen opus, to još na kub.)
A i The Forever War slobodno zaobiđi; nećeš od toga biti ništa bogatiji, osrednje je to delce, u svakom bogovetnom pogledu.
A ako mogu ikako da povratim taj (neutepan) kredit oko jedne preporuke bajate sf proze - uzmi Kantikulum.
Meni je The Forever War vrlo drag roman. Doduše, napominjem da treba da si ljubitelj već pomenutih MASHO-olikih ratnih romana da bi ti se zaista dopadao i da je njegova moralna poduka prilično, hm, naivnjikava, ali meni je to i dalje super knjiga. Čak mi se, moram da kažem i The Forever Peace dopao mada je to već delo proračunatog profesionalca a ne nadahnutog novajlije...
Pa ne smatram da je loš ali... 'ebiga, unutar neke no time & lots to see hijerarhije, ovo mu dođe vredno čitanja samo ako imaš mnooogo slobodnog vremena i malen izbor štiva.
Naravno, to važi samo za punoletnu raju; sve ono pre toga je život na pozajmljeno vreme.

Baj d vej, meni je Mindbridge istog autora bio nekako impresivniji u ono vreme, kad sam ga čitao serijalizovanog u Alefu. Mislim, možda nije bolje napisan od The Forever War, ali je prepun sjajnih ideja...
Od svega ovoga jedino Timescape nisam citao, ali mislim da ovoj listi nedostaje podosta naslova. Takodje, malo mi je imbecilno mesanje baba & zaba. Hocu reci, sta na istom spisku traze Gospodar prstenova i Zvezde moje odrediste?

Ma, ok... I jedna i druga knjiga su za mene veoma znacajne i pruzile mi mnogo. Ali. Sastavljanje takvih spiskova podrazumeva izvesne kriterijume. Ovaj spisak mi se cini kao da su ga sastavljali po istim merilima po kojima biraju poslanike za nasu Glupstinu.

eee disapojntnent..... mislio sam da je ovo jos jedna od onih holisticko-pulpistickih-kolektivna-svest statistika koja hoce da pokaze da vecinu najpoznatijih naslova vecina ljudi ne moze da izgura do kraja, ali one svejedno prezivljavaju.....
