Novi Clarkesword! A u njemu: Thirteen ways of looking at space/time (http://clarkesworldmagazine.com/valente_08_10/) od Catherynne M. Valente
QuoteIn the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was a high-density pre-baryogenesis singularity. Darkness lay over the deep and God moved upon the face of the hyperspatial matrix. He separated the firmament from the quark-gluon plasma and said: let there be particle/anti-particle pairs, and there was light. He created the fish of the sea and the fruits of the trees, the moon and the stars and the beasts of the earth, and to these he said: Go forth, be fruitful and mutate. And on the seventh day, the rest mass of the universe came to gravitationally dominate the photon radiation, hallow it, and keep it.
God, rapidly redshifting, hurriedly formed man from the dust of single-celled organisms, called him Adam, and caused him to dwell in the Garden of Eden, to classify the beasts according to kingdom, phylum and species. God forbade Man only to eat from the Tree of Meiosis. Adam did as he was told, and as a reward God instructed him in the ways of parthenogenesis. Thus was Woman born, and called Eve. Adam and Eve dwelt in the pre-quantum differentiated universe, in a paradise without wave-particle duality. But interference patterns came to Eve in the shape of a Serpent, and wrapping her in its matter/anti-matter coils, it said: eat from the Tree of Meiosis and your eyes will be opened. Eve protested that she would not break covenant with God, but the Serpent answered: fear not, for you float in a random quantum-gravity foam, and from a single bite will rise an inexorable inflation event, and you will become like unto God, expanding forever outward.
And so Eve ate from the Tree, and knew that she was a naked child of divergent universes. She took the fruit to Adam, and said unto him: there are things you do not understand, but I do. And Adam was angry, and snatched the fruit from Eve and devoured it, and from beyond the cosmic background radiation, God sighed, for all physical processes are reversible in theory—but not in practice. Man and Woman were expelled from the Garden, and a flaming sword was placed through the Gates of Eden as a reminder that the universe would now contract, and someday perish in a conflagration of entropy, only to increase in density, burst, and expand again, causing further high velocity redistributions of serpents, fruit, men, women, helium-3, lithium-7, deuterium, and helium-4.

Uopšte nije to TO :)

http://www.scificlassics.x10.mx/index.html (http://www.scificlassics.x10.mx/index.html)
Libe, predobar link! xcheers
I meni isto.

Here's a description of the book.
A perfect gift book, this sumptuously illustrated and whimsically bite-sized bestiary is the definitive – in fact only – guide to the kosherness (kashrut) of imaginary animals. It is an undomesticated romp from A to Z, including E. T., hobbits, Mongolian Death Worms, and the elusive chupacabra. Including contributions from noted author Joseph Nigg and Food Network cooking star Duff Goldman.
Copiously illustrated, this hilarious kashrut will rank with the most famous of theological contests. In this corner is Evil Monkey, the one-time presidential candidate and alter-ego of acclaimed fantasist Jeff VanderMeer. His more-than-worthy adversary is Ann VanderMeer, Jeff's co-anthologist (Steampunk, Last Drink Bird Head) and editor of Weird Tales.
As featured on Boing Boing and Jewcy.com and brought to you by the same creative team that gave you The Thackery T. Lambshead Pocket Guide to Eccentric and Discredited Diseases, this irreverent abecedary is the must-have present for anyone seeking to broaden their imaginary culinary experiences guilt-free.

Ex-U.S.-Senator Gibson Altman rules the prison colony where everyone is expected to live by rules that govern every aspect of their lives.
The inhabitants of the experimental colony survive in a society plagued by crime, corruption and despair, toiling endlessly at tasks they are appointed to. Altman lives a life of luxury, ruling the lives of the souls trapped within his experiment and brooking no opposition to mandate.
However, Pallas, the terraformed asteroid, is also home to Curringer, a society in stark contrast to Altman's prison. It is a community where individual freedoms are championed and men and women are free to live as they please.
Emerson Ngu escapes from Altman's prison colony and becomes a hero of Curringer. Altman is driven by a deep hatred of Emerson and his triumph and will do anything to get his revenge on him. But in the process will he also destroy his own daughter and even the world of Pallas?

Amazon is offering free download of Brian W Aldiss' book Cryptozoic! for limited time. Since we are not sure how long will this promotion last, get yourself a copy quickly.
Here's the synopsis:
In the year 2093, human consciousness has expanded to the point where man can now travel to the past using a technique called "mind-travelling." Artist Edward Bush returns from a nearly-three year mind-travel to find that his government has crumbled and society is now under the leadership a new regime. Given Bush's excellent ability to mind-travel, he is recruited by the regime to track down and assassinate a scientist whose ideas threaten to topple everything they've built.

The Last Osama explores the world after the capture of Osama bin Laden in the Abbottabad Compound on May 2nd, 2011. In a world profoundly altered by the death, a bounty hunter is hired by the remnants of an army to travel down the Euphrates. His mission: track down and eliminate the last of the Osamas.
But how do you kill an idea?
A postscript to Lavie Tidhar's World Fantasy nominated novel Osama, written after bin Laden's capture and two months before Tidhar's novel was coming out, this is a surreal tale of meta-fiction and hyper-pulp as written by both Tidhar and his pulp alter-ego, Mike Longshott. 7300 words.

We're pleased to bring you a free look at the first chapter of Rosa Montero's
Tears in Rain, a novel set in a post-
Blade-Runner world...
(https://www.znaksagite.com/diskusije/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimages.amazon.com%2Fimages%2FP%2F1612184383.01._SCLZZZZZZZ_SL300_.jpg&hash=5d367afd0bb9583ef4b0f802ce17e05cc001b736)
Here's the book description:
Death is inevitable. Especially when you have an expiration date.
As a replicant, or "techno-human," Detective Bruna Husky knows two things: humans bioengineered her to perform dangerous, undesirable tasks; and she has just ten years on the United States of Earth before her body automatically self-destructs. But with "anti-techno" rage on the rise and a rash of premature deaths striking her fellow replicants, she may have even less time than she originally thought.
Investigating the mysterious deaths, Bruna delves into the fractious, violent history shared by humans and replicants, and struggles to engage the society that fails to understand her—yet created her. The deeper she gets, the deadlier her work becomes as she uncovers a vast, terrifying conspiracy bent on changing the very course of the world. But even as the darkness of her reality closes in, Bruna clings fiercely to life.

U konkretno K is for Kosovo nema fantastike. Evo ti link pa overi:

Book Description Publication Date:June 10, 2013 Blacklist Publishing promises to bring you the kinds of books the other presses do not dare: the forbidden, the forgotten, the condemned. Our wonderful list exclusively features titles from authors whose works have been burned, banished, or simply neglected by history. From a book for adolescents on the problems of turning yourself into an artificial vampire (Flesh of the Fallen), to a chilling dystopian novella written by a literary computer (Beyond the Senses). From a seditious fragment of an ancient hypertext (Theatre of the Gods) to a book which proposes, with heretic bravado, that we are all the fleshy descendants of old gods (The Gorgon Wakes). With these controversial titles and many more available to preview in this sampler, we are expecting a hearty series of battles with clerics, politicians, frigid lunatics and conservative activists. NORTH SOMERSET, 28/07/2013 – Science fiction novelist Gareth L. Powell has taken the brave step of releasing some of his most well-received work as a free e-book, downloadable from his website.
The e-book, which is titled Entropic Angel, features four of Gareth's favourite short stories, and excerpts from his first three published novels: Ack-Ack Macaque, Silversands, and The Recollection.
Gareth (42), whose novels are published by Solaris Books in the UK and USA, says he decided to release the collection for free in order to say thank you to his existing readers, as well as attracting new ones.
"Several people contacted me saying they liked the sound of my work but were unsure where to start, so I put together this collection to give them a taste of each of my books."
Gareth, whose fourth novel, Hive Monkey, will be published by Solaris in January next year, has been compared in reviews to J.G. Ballard. His books have been favourably reviewed in The Guardian and, in 2007, one of his stories came top of Interzone magazine's annual readers' poll for best short story of the year.
He said, "People can download this collection for free, and share it with their friends. I hope some of them will be moved to go on and buy one of my books; but if they just want to enjoy the stories for free, that's cool too. This isn't about sales, it's about reaching out to new readers.
A regular contributor to anthologies and magazines, Gareth has co-written stories with Paul Graham Raven and Aliette de Bodard; given guest lectures on creative writing at Bath Spa University; penned a strip for Britain's long-running sci-fi and fantasy comic, 2000AD; and written articles on science fiction for The Irish Times and SFX Magazine. He is professionally represented by the John Jarrold Literary Agency.
Entropic Angel is available to download in either epub or mobi (Kindle) format from his website: www.garethlpowell.com (http://www.garethlpowell.com/)
