Na Međunarodnom sajmu knjiga u Frankfurtu koji se održava od 06.10.2010.-10.10.2010. godine, ove godine, uz nekoliko domaćih izdavača a u organizaciji SUIKa, učestvuje i TARDIS d.o.o.
TARDIS je do sada učestvovao na Međunarodnom Sajmu knjige u Beogradu 2008 i 2008. godine, na Novobeogradskom Sajmu knjige i Salonu knjige u Novom Sadu. Prvi put izlazimo iz zemlje da naučimo kako se to radi u "belom svetu", pokušamo da napravimo kontakte i prodamo prava za domaća izdanja.
Kao glavni čovek TARDISa, (po nekim tvrdnjama i žene su ljudi) odnosno kao direktor TARDISa, rukovodim se motivom da je važno učestvovati. Ne sanjam o tome da će se desiti čudo i da će lista izdanja biti u žiži interesovanja. Očekujem da nešto naučimo, upoznamo se i pripremimo za sledeći sajam.

Otvoren sajam knjiga u Frankfurtu
U Frankfurtu je otvoren 62. Međunarodni sajam knjiga, najveći u svetu, na kome učestvuje više od 7.500 izlagača iz 111 zemalja, među kojima je i Srbija.





Sajam knjiga, koji će trajati do 10. oktobra, zajednički su otvorili šef nemačke diplomatije Gvido Vestervele i predsednica Argentine Kristina Fernandez de Kirhner, čija je zemlja ove godine počasni gost frankfurtskog sajma.

Frankfurt će narednih pet dana biti sedište autora, izdavača, filmskih producenata, trgovaca i ljubitelja knjiga, a organizatori kažu da će se u metropoli na Majni ove godine govoriti o budućnosti knjige u eri novih informacionih tehnologija.

Tokom sajma će biti dodeljene književne nagrade, a najznačajnija je "Mirovna nagrada" Nemačkog udruženja knjižara, koja će poslednjeg dana sajma biti dodeljena izraelskom književniku Davidu Grosmanu.

Na ovom najvećem sajmu knjiga na svetu, koji je 1949. godine osnovalo Udruženje nemačkih knjižara, očekuje se ove godine oko 300.000 posetilaca iz celog sveta.

Kada je reč o nagradama, nemačku književnu nagradu za roman godine, napisan na nemačkom jeziku, koja se tradicionalno dodeljuje u predvečerje sajma, dobila je Melinda Nađ - Abonji, švajcarska književnica rođena 1968. godine u Srbiji.

Ona je nemačku književnu nagradu dobila za roman "Tauben fliegen auf", autobiografsko delo o jednoj mađarsko-srpskoj porodici iz Vojvodine, koja se sedamdesetih godina seli u Švajcarsku, gde u gastronomiji gradi svoju egzistenciju.

Na srpskom nacionalnom štandu u Frankfurtu biće predstavljena dela pisaca čija su dela prevedena ili se prevode na nemački jezik, kao svojevrsna najava počasnog gostovanja Srbije na Međunarodnom sajmu knjiga u Lajpcigu 2011.

S nemačkim novinarima, studentima, prevodiocima i drugim posetiocima Sajma u Frankfurtu razgovaraće pisci Dragan Velikić, Zoran Živković, Ljubica Arsicć i Jelena Lengold, a biće predstavljeno i stvaralaštvo Milovana Danojlića.

Sutra, 6. oktobra, će u programu "Dijalog frankfurtskog sajma" biti održana konferencija za novinare, na kojoj će o planovima za gostovanje u Lajpcigu govoriti koordinator tog nastupa Dragoslav Dedović i direktor lajpciškog sajma Oliver Cile.

Urednica renomiranog nemačkog književnog časopisa "Noje rundšau" Izabel Kupski govoriće na promociji o novom broju te publikacije koji je u celini posvećen savremenoj srpskoj književnosti, a predviđen je i razgovor s Jelenom Lengold i Draganom Velikićem.

O piscima koji će učestvovati u programima na srpskom nacionalnom štandu štampan je i prateći promotivni materijal.

Na frankfurtskom sajmu ove godine učestvuje 13 srpskih izdavačkih kuća okupljenih oko Srpskog udruženja izdavača i knjižara, koje će imati sopstveni štand na toj manifestaciji i predstaviti se pod motom "Raskršće srpske literature".

U zajedničkom katalogu, koji je Udruženje izradilo na engleskom jeziku, predstavljena su dela autora koja su objavile izdavačke kuće "Alnari", BIGZ, "Book", "Dobra knjiga", "Enco book", "Evro Đunti", "JRJ", "Laguna", "Logos art", "Mono i Manjana", "Odiseja", "Pi press" i "Tardis".

Katalog obuhvata dela domaćih autora objavljena na srpskom ili engleskom jeziku, među kojima su klasici srpske književnosti, drame, naučno-popularna literatura, ilustrovane enciklopedije i istorije umetnosti, knjige za decu, kao i dela savremenih autora.

Milorad Pavić has to keep telling tales — Sava Babić                  
Sava Babić, respected critic and translator has great esteem for Pavić, and has over the years written a number of essays about the late writer's works. But this is more than just a collection; this is a recollection of a long and sometimes turbulent relationship between an author and a reader.
Sava Babić (1934–, Palić, Serbia) is a writer, translator, university professor, founder of the Department of Hungarology on Faculty of Philology, University of Belgrade; an important figure in Serbian literature and culture. He has published fourteen books of his own (essays, critiques, studies, novels). He is translating from Hungarian for decades, and has over 70 translations published.

The Journals of Signalism  — Miroljub Todorović
SIGNALISM (lat. signum – sign) is an experimental creative movement, originated in Serbian poetry in the middle of the sixties, which acquired its followers in a wider Yugoslav and international space by the end of the sixth and the beginning of the seventh decade of XX century. Its beginnings are to 1959, when the founder and theorist of this movement Miroljub Todorović began with experiments in language, convinced that there was no revolution in poetry unless it was performed in its basic medium — in the language. The birth of Signalism in Serbian literature and culture and its strivings for the revolution in other arts (fine arts, theatre, music and film), resulted from a need to negate the worn models preserved by poetical and cultural tradition in general and to respond creatively to the demands and "spiritual situation" of modern technological and electronic civilization.
The JOURNALS OF SIGNALISM are a personal and an artists journal of Miroljub Todorović, founder of the Signalist movement, covering the period from 1979. to1983. They are not just a diary of private and public life of an artist, they also give insights and reflections of the author on the cultural and socio-political situation in Serbia and the rest of the world, reactions to the arrest and trials of artists, recollections of violent protests of writers, philosophers and other intellectuals in Belgrade, Falkland war, Iran-Iraq war, etc. They hold examples of poesie brute (raw poetry), quotes, musings, dreams, numerous notes and short essays in which the author expands and adds to poetics of Signalism, parts of the vast mail-art archive and other art projects the author took part of.                              
Miroljub Todorović, Serbian poet and artist, was born 1940. in Skoplje. He graduated law at the Faculty of Law, University of Belgrade. He is the founder and theoretician of Signalism, an avant-garde literary and artistic movement, active in Serbian and Yugoslav culture, and editor in chief of the international review Signal. During his work there he published more than 2000 reviews, articles and essays in journals and magazines and 15 books. His work was also evaluated in three Ph.D. theses. The first one was presented by Dr. Ph. Julian Kornhauser, at University of Krakow, the Department of Yugoslavistics in 1980. The second was presented by Dr. Živan Živković, at University of Belgrade, the Department of Serbian 20th Century Literature in 1991. The third was presented by Dr. Ph. Milivoje Pavlovic at Megatrend University in Belgrade in 2002.

Chimera or Borg — Slobodan Škerović
An inquisitive reader shall perceive this work as a series of reflections (and considerations) based on the topic of literature or wider social phenomena. However, it becomes clear into the book that the essays, although it is possible to read them independently, comprise a wide, comprehensive image (or at least a detailed sketch) of the world through which Skerovic and us, as his contemporaries, walk (un)cautiously, carefree, (un)troubled. The heedlessness is revealed when the author freely (boldly and arrogantly) takes a peak behind the surface of the event disclosing a number of lines that lead to other phenomena, apparently unrelated to the original, harmless cause.
Slobodan Škerović (1954, Belgrade, Serbia) is Serbian painter, poet, writer, essayist, editor... Studied art at the University of Belgrade Faculty of Art and at the Kunstakademie in Düsseldorf. Since 1976 his poems and various texts have been published in numerous magazines, newspapers and periodicals. Editor of STUDENT and VIDICI (1980-1982). Active paricipant in the signalist movement.

Black Box / Hugged Children — Slobodan Škerović                        
The collection of poems "Black Box" contains two cycles of predominantly short poems varying from epigrammatic statements or philosophical insights to modern, minimalistic "haiku" form, often spiced with sarcasm, poetic humour and critical cynicism. The first cycle entitled "Chain Reaction" is based on the specific view of the modern, cosmic era, in which the poet "verifies" scientific theories often expressing doubt regarding the accepted "natural laws", and founds his critical stand on a reconsideration of logic preceding the "age of reason".

The collection of poems entitled "Hugged Children" starts with a poem of the same title dramatically describing the phenomenon of social control over the direct expression of human closeness – the touch. The touch is one of the most severely sanctioned human activities – it is dangerous, devastating, contagious. It is vital to stop children from... hugging!
New children have discovered That orgasm is Energy
In other poems, the poet visits the known and unknown areas of modern and ancient civilizations, myths and legend, reconsiders the validity of predominant views of the world and various ways of life. Often and too often the poet points to the absurd, to hidden crimes and technology of manipulation over human consciousness.

Autumn of the Gatherers — Ilija Bakić
"The vision is clear, but there are no words for the things seen," but the writer tells us the invisible, painfully and accurately. The stories are told to state an intent, and the intent is to show all the hopelesness of the human forms made of conditioning by "civilisation" and "humane enviroment". The 15 stories collected here are, as most of the related contemporary prose around the world, difficult to pin down in terms of genre. "Pure" fiction dominates, yet science fiction permeates the stories. They are infinitely rich in spirit and diverse — from alternative worlds and parallel histories to completely alien beings and societies. This is a worthy representative of the Serbian fiction and science fiction literature.
Ilija Bakić (1960, Vršac, Serbia) is a poet, storyteller, novelist, reviewer, essayist, editor, contributor to many publishing houses and periodicals. Published several collections of poems, several collections of stories, a novel... Won two "Lazar Komarčić" awards for best SF story; collection of cyberpunk stories "U odvajanju" won Book of the Year (2010) Award given by Association of Writers of Vojvodina.

ICE / On The Satellite — Ilija Bakić                                                            
ICE is a short post-cyberpunk novel following the fate of two thieves hired by a powerful company to do their minor dirty work in the dark future of a mega-megalopolis. Following orders of their employer, they hide in a quiet and uninteresting museum. Its corridors, however, hold surprises and challenges gradually separating the two friends.
ON THE SATELLITE is a short post-cyberpunk novel about Winter, a head-hunter, attempting to find a friend who disappeared on the outskirts of a future megalopolis. The search leads him from shady inns to slums, ruled by basic principles of human packs based on physical violence and complete submission. The hunter becomes a victim ruthlessly hunted down in the nightmarish labyrinth.
The novels are written in an unique language of the future – an amalgam of the Serbian-German-English language with specific grammar – contributing to the persuasively depicted atmosphere.

The Kings — Zoran Jakšić
The collection contains the most significant of Jaksic's stories, making it the best selection for anyone wanting to get to know the work of this author. Jaksic is a writer with an extremely vivid imagination, creating ingeniously depicted worlds with painstaking detail that will make you feel immersed in the tales yourself. The astounding element of these tales is the imaginativeness and richness of the worlds. Furthermore, Jaksic uses an elegant and enjoyable choice of words and his tales are read with ease.
A collection of the most significant and award-winning stories by Zoran Jakšić, one of the best Serbian sci-fi authors. Jakšić is a writer with an extremely vivid imagination, creating immersive, ingeniously depicted worlds in painstaking detail, be it the siege of medieval Serbia by the Ottoman dirigibles; destruction of this world by a child possessed by the angels; or the cyberpunk world of the "world mechanics", a task force fighting earthquakes by diving straight into the heart of the matter, the molten hell of Earth's core.
Zoran Jakšić — born 1960, in Pančevo, Serbia. Graduated at the University of Belgrade, School of Electrical Engineering (1983), MD (1992), PhD (2001). Works as a researcher in the field of electromagnetic nanooptics.

Jakšić is also a translator, noted for his excellent work on Douglas Adams' "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" series, Stephen R. Donaldson's "The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant, the Unbeliever" series, and C.S. Lewis' "The Chronicles of Narnia"

The Ministry of Shadows — Zoran Jakšić                                                       A collection of 19 stories, often sharing the same science–fictional world. Despite the dominant dark and satirical elements, Jakšić retains a suprisingly kind and humorous tone, the language remains ornate and maintains elegance even when he tells us of the fine custom of cursing our closest (or furthest, without discrimination when it come to curses) family down to the fiftieth degree of cousinhood. Even the shortest of the stories contain a "catch" and details that will make you stop and think: "How did he think of this?!"
The collection contains 19 stories. These are interesting pieces of writing, written in a beautiful language, often very funny, or with humorous details, some of which will make you laugh until you cry. Most of the stories in the collection "The Ministry of Shadows" take place within the same science-fictional world.
The stories are allegories of ourselves. There are frequent strong satirical elements present; yet the stories are not written in the oversimplified language that satires of other writers are sometimes known for  –  Jaksic's language remains ornate and maintains elegance, even when he tells us of the fine custom of cursing our closest (or furthest, without discrimination when it come to curses) family down to the fiftieth degree of cousinhood. The stories vary in length, with one miniature and several longer stories. All the stories are characterized by an elegant language, trained narrative skills, craftsmanship, authentic characters that are, even in the shorter stories, craftily depicted, humour in most stories, all of which contain a "catch", and details that will make you stop and think: "How did he think of this?!"

Crumbs under the Skin — Aleksandar Marković
The "Crumbs under the Skin" collection contains 15 stories. What these stories share is their effect. Lethality. The author toys with unique ideas in a number of stories; a lesser writer would have made mediocre tales, however, Marković writes outstanding stories – whether he is recounting the terrifying gate in Charlie Brown's world and the kite-devouring tree, the local politician who flees before a zombie invasion, the incurable psychopath–villain sent to the Moon, the revelation of a boy searching for the Cockroach Queen, the adventures of the white rhinoceros, the beginning of World War III, ways to leave someone, the reproductive cycle of a humanoid creature...
There is nothing superfluous in the stories collected here. He will make you smile, he will make you think and he will always strike a chord...
This is not an "easy read", nor a collection of trivial literature, yet again, being craftily written makes it a page-turner; even on rereads you will feel its impact.
Aleksandar Marković was born in 1961. in Belgrade, Serbia, two months before his time; thus he is older than he feels, and wears his shoes in smaller size than you'd think. He graduated at the Faculty of Philology, University of Belgrade; he is an unused (and by now unusable) professor of Italian language. He works as a translator. Every leap year, he takes a leap – by writing something of his own. He goes to bed late at night and gets up early in the morning because the day is too short for all the things he would like to do. He believes that a man mustn't seek the meaning of life within himself, but in others. Rigidly and ascetically he adheres to the principles of hedonism. He dreams of his past lives.

A Footprint of the Beast, in the Ashes — Boban Knežević                
The collection includes texts written during different periods, in different styles and with different topics... It is unlikely that a person will like all the stories contained in the book, although it is likely that almost everybody will like at least some of the stories, most likely a number of them.
The stories take place in Serbia, but in different versions of Serbia: in the near or far future. Mostly written during the dark period of our history, they present Serbia in a future that is not bright, isolated from the world, surviving for who knows how long and why...
The book entitled "A Footprint of the Beast, in the Ashes" is an interesting collection of 12 stories written over a period of 25 years. The stories will not be to everyone's taste, yet at least some of them will. This is a collection without any bad stories, so reader satisfaction is likely.
Boban Knežević  (1959, Belgrade) is a writer, editor and publisher (and sometimes even a soccer referee).  
Books: Smrt na Neptunu (novel, 2006), Crni cvet (novel, 1993, known as "Black Blossom" in the USA, 2004, Prime Books; won the "Lazar Komarčić" award for best SF novel), Čovek koji je ubio leptira (novel, 1996), Slutnja androida (collection, 2002), Poslednji Srbin (novel, 2009), Otisak zveri u pepelu (collecion, 2009).
He has over 40 short stories published in various magazines and anthologies.
As a publisher and an editor he is known for magazines ALEF (1986—1991) and ZNAK SAGITE (1993— ), imprint Znak Sagite, science fiction anthologies "Tamni vilajet"

An Eye for another World — Radmilo Anđelković
The novel entitled "An Eye for Another World" by Radmilo Andjelkovic iz made up of four large segments:
The first chapter, "No Room for Silk Worms", tells us about the bane that threatens humans if they fail to learn about their homeland and sell it to the Travelers. The Travelers are an alien species of possibly Earthly origins, bringing advanced technology to humans and taking over Earth regions of particular interest, partly by paying and partly by bribing, which are being systematically depopulated. Special care is being taken that people do not die on those territories.
The following chapter, "Five Views of Terazije Ridge", takes place in the 20th century, when the issue with the Travelers had still not advanced, and gives us a taste of the conflict to come.
The chapter entitled "Light Sex and Heavy Beating" follows the adventures of Marta, a girl abducted and killed far from her homeland she knows too well, thus coming into conflict with the Travelers' interests, as well as Janko Martinovic, a demolitions expert, attempting to help the ghost of the woman return to her home turf, while romance takes root between them.
The final chapter, "The Tribe of Two Worlds", superbly links the previous characters and introduces new ones, wrapping up the story without a single loose end.
The novel "An Eye for Another World" is amusing and an easy read, instructive in its tale about this and nether world, as well as in terms of the issues common for both worlds – struggle for territory, for survival, and the eternal question: "What's in it for me?"
Radmilo Anđelković (1942, Belgrade, Serbia) is a chemical engineer by occupation, and has worked for the Yugoslavian (now Serbian) Military Technical Institute with the ministry of Defence. His heart, though, was always in art – journalism, acting, writing (scrpiting for comic books as well as literature). He is an instructor at the "Lazar Komarčić" writers' workshop for SF&Fantasy literature.

Over 40 of his stories are published in various magazines and periodicals.  

Chronicles Of The Space Gypsies — Radmilo Anđelković                                
LAST SPACE OPERA HERO in CHRONICLES OF THE SPACE GYPSIES
Odd and often impossible challenges are coded in the genes of certain people and they, joined in the Space Gypsies guild, dedicate themselves to seeking the unfathomable. Once a year they gather on the lone planet Kidis, there to camp and recount their quests. The best storyteller wins the Space Gypsy Award and it is, most frequently, won by Grej Svaruk Hening.
In the eight individual stories of the first book, KIDIS CAMP, Grej Svaruk Hening and his partners and foes live out their adventures, compete and attain their goals.
The second book is a novel, LEGION OF ID, wherein Grej Svaruk Hening, armed with the ability to enter his own genetic code, is tasked with a mission that will bring him face to face with his and others Id and finally determine his path.

Guardians of the North — Neda Mandić–Spasojević
The novel tackles love, parallel realities and the search for love. Isabel Lens, a satellite image designer, draws attention upon herself by covertly (and illegally) downloading the "Erosion" file, hoping it will tell her more of the disappearance of her husband Pierre, a medical doctor – one who, although a civilian, disappeared in a military operation while rescuing injured tourists in Switzerland. Isabel finds the entire case suspicious, some facts do not fit in and she tries to learn what really happened and, if possible, find her husband. In doing so, she is recruited into the higher Zone, and dives deeper into the technology of parallel universes – in one of the universes her husband did not receive a call while watching a game, he does not leave, he does not disappear and he stays with her. While her own world (or one of them) inches towards its end, the question of Isabel and Pierre reuniting            
in another world arises, a world not hurtling towards impending doom.                    
Neda Mandić–Spasojević (1972, Subotica, Serbia) is a professional translator
(translates english technical and scientific literature), book critic and essayist for
various periodicals, and a fiction writer. Čuvari Severa (2009) is her first novel.
 
Dorcades — Mirjana Detelić                                                                 
There were three kinds of teachers in ancient Greece – Homers, Chirons and Dorcades. The Dorcades were the greatest mystics among them. They chose who to teach, girls in equal numbers as boys, they did not ask for any sort of remuneration, and the parents of the children selected were not always sure if this was a blessing or a curse, since the Dorcades took their students away and their parents would never see them again.
The novel tells us stories about the Dorcades, including one recounted by a Dorcas, and the last story explains their origin. It tells us of men and women in extraordinary tales taking place in interesting locations such as Kotor, Zemun, Belgrade, Palmira and Dubrovnik.
Written in a soft pseudo-scientific style, yet not obscure in language or wording, with interesting characters and well-guided plot, elegant and benign humor, "Dorcades, the Legend of the Disappearance" is a fast and pleasurable read.
Mirjana Detelić (1950, Belgrade), PhD in Serbian literature, works as a Project member with the Institute for Balkan Studies at the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts. Her field of expertise is Serbian ethnology and literature, and she has over 50 articles published in various publications.

Mihajlo Vukosavljevic is a youth from a small village, coming to a college in Belgrade, a vast and strange city. He there seeks his love and fortune, but soon abandons them when a war breaks out. Mihajlo goes to fight – this is the beginning of his adventures, taking him to various places, where he meets different people, continuously seeking something, without knowing what it is, coming across small parts of truth but never the complete answers, eventually learning the truth about himself and the nature of the world–construct he lives in, the truth which is a well-kept secret of ultimate importance.
Ljubomir Damnjanović (1959–1999) was a translator, an activist in "Lazar Komarčić" Science Fiction Association and longtime editor of its 'zine "Emitor".

Sve prikazane/izložene knjige su mi jasne, ali, dozvolite jedno pitanje, gospođo Spomenka...
Gdje, dođavola, ,,Poslednji Srbin" i "Crni Cvet" srpskog autora Bobana Kneževića?


Znam da nije u tvom izdavačkom opusu, al me neki đavo (Teufel) natera da doprinesem temi evocirajući njemački jezik kojim sam zadnji put pisao davne 1984, Orvelove godine... pa rekoh, ajd Sale da se podsetiš malo...



Žare, pun gas tamo, navijamo za tebe, nas, za naše... a "Frankfurt at night" iliti "Frankfurter nachtspiele" su baš onako, kako da kažem, primamljiviji deo svetog zadatka popularizacije naše nepošteno zapostavljene fantastike...

ŽarCo i Sebastian sutra imaju dan D. Preliminarne razgovore o objavljivanju nekih naslova na skandinavskom tržištu. Navijam za njih iz sve snage. Očekujem da će bar jedan od pregovora biti uspešan.

Bobane, forwardovao sam ti katalog na znaksagite mail. Okačio bih ovde ali sam tanak sa netom i kratak sa baterijom, pa okači ti ako te ne mrzi.

Štand Udruženja je odmah preko puta štanda Srbije, pa se gledamo. Živković je jedan od glavnih gostiju (ako ne i glavni -- ima i najviše knjiga prevedenih kojekude).

Sajam je ogroman i put raznih divota, previše knjiga sa svih strana ište moju pažnju... nije lako

Je l' bio cosplay i ove godine?

Bio je odvratno veliki cosplay, milion raznih pripadnika akatsukija na sve strane. Sve fotke su kod Sebastijana na aparatu, koji je neznani saboter setovao na 640x480, tako da nemam pojma dal je išta od snimaka iskoristivo (ne samo sa cosplaya, već i sa turneje po Frakfurtu i okolini).

Sam sajam je užasno velik. Ima 8 hala približne veličine ili veće od Hale 1 beogradskog sajma, a većina ih ima još i sprat. Sajmište ima svoj, interni, prevoz minibusevima koji kruže po sajmištu — to nas je spaslo više puta.

Količina knjiga koja je izložena je zapanjujuća, svaki peti štand ima nešto što mi zapalo za oko, ili nešto od čega mi se povraća. Ostalo su eto neke knjige, ali čista količina svega je

A konkretni rezultati... ko je od izdavača uspeo da udomi neku knjigu?

Phu... ja se razumem samo oko ovog našeg, a i to neću širiti ni pominjati dok ne bude sve 100% dogovoreno i sređeno. Za ostale, stvarno nemam predstavu.
