Imamo 'most anticipicipated' za regular filmove, ali da ipak odvojimo horore od krimića i teen komendija: evo nekoliko lepih novih vesti da otpočnemo novi topik:

1. DŽEK BAUER SE VRAĆA DRUGOJ VRSTI VISOKE NAPETOSTI:

Of all the bizarre comebacks for 80's stars in the recent years, Kiefer Sutherland's is the one that still freaks me out sometimes. And not just because his first name is Kiefer; seriously, what the hell does that mean? The man has done well for himself with "24", now filming its seventh season, but don't think he's forgotten his roots in our genre.

Variety made it known this morning that Sutherland has agreed to star in Alexandre (The Hills Have Eyes redux) Aja's first supernatural horror film, Mirrors, taking the role of an ex-cop now doing mall security who is the first to notice some very strange things going down in the mirrors of a department store. The rest of the film is spent trying to stop the evil from taking over the rest of the mall and, eventually, the world.

This is not the first we've heard of the project, though it's the first we've heard of it in a long while. Before you get too excited about its origins, yes, it is a remake of a Korean film called Into the Mirror from 2003. I've never seen it myself, nor have I heard anything terribly positive or negative about it, so it's not like Aja's treading into Ring territory with this.

Shooting is supposed to take place on May 1st, giving Kiefer a solid week's vacation after "24"s seventh season is finished rolling.


2. FON TRIROVE ĐAVOLIJADE:
Been waiting for more news on Lars Von Trier's Antichrist, his first foray into horror since The Kingdom? Well, wait no longer because some interesting news came down today via Screen Daily (by way of Twitch).

Apparently Von Treir will collaborate on the script for Antichrist with Anders Thomas Jensen, A TO JE ČOVEK KOJI JE POTPISAO U Kini jedu pse I, ŠTO JE JOŠ BOLJE, CRNOHUMORNU HOROR-KOMEDIJU The Green Butchers (Ghoul said check it out 3 years ago from San Francisco!)

Not much is known about Antichrist yet, only that it revolves around the theory that Satan, not God, created the world. And this is Von Trier's attempt at making a "mainstream" picture, if you can believe it.


3. MESO ZA NAJBOLJU ŽIVU REŽISERKU?
Now that the dust surrounding Tom Cruise's insanity is beginning to settle, Paramount is finding a lot or projects that had to be abandoned by him and his producing partner Paula Wagner when they split from the studio.

According to Variety, one such project is the Erik Larson novel The Devil in the White City, the true story of America's first serial killer, H. H. Holmes, which Paramount has now scooped up the rights for. Looking to mount a big budget production of the book, Double Feature Films will now produce the film for the major.

Back when it was a Cruise/Wagner production, Near Dark writer/director Kathryn Bigelow was on board to direct Devil but had to leave, citing "creative differences" with the producing team (which probably means she couldn't deal with Cruise being batshit insane). Now that a new team is in place, we can hope that she makes a return to the tale.

The Devil in the White City takes place during the 1893 World's Fair in Chicago, where Holmes used his hotel near the grounds to murder dozens of victims using all manner of nasty methods.

redovno posjećujem taj sajt i tvič.net

ali onako mislio sam da neko na ovom forumu ponekad okači topik o nekim zanimljivim naslovima iz azije... kao što je slučaj sa zapadnjačkim filmovima

NIL DŽORDAN RADI HOROR!

mada zaplet zvuči čizi i nedostojan njega, bem li ga, ipak je to džordan, čovek koji kad se potrudi, svakih 5-8 godina, napravi ODLIČAN film.

Variety is reporting this morning that New Line Cinema and Kopelson Entertainment have joined forces and picked up KILLING ON CARNIVAL ROW, with director Neil Jordan attached to direct. As Jordan was behind INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE, and CARNIVAL is set to feature vampires, along with other creatures, I'd say we're gearing up for a good time with this one!

Set in Victorian days, CARNIVAL follows a detective pursuing a killer in a city filled with humans, faeries, elves and vampires. While that's the extent of what's known about the plot thus far, I can say that actually sounds like it could be cool. Movies that feature weird creatures living side-by-side people are generally pretty darn entertaining to say the least.

Arnold and Anne Kopelson are set to produce. The duo also produced such classics as SEVEN, and the entertaining Schwarzenegger vehicle, ERASER. Add that with Jordan's directing skills, and you have yourself one flick with tons of potential. Let's just hope they don't f*ck it up...

KRONENBERG (ZVANIČNO) - ODLEPIO: MUVA U OPERI!

Fangoria reports that Cronenberg and composer Howard Shore have teamed up once again to translate the 1986 goo-fest into a full fledged opera. Shore will be tackling the music, obviously, while Los Angeles playwright David Henry Hwang is writing the libretto. Cronenberg will direct the project, strangely enough, and already, dates for the epic have been set, beginning with the premiere in Paris on July 1st of next year, followed by the US premiere September 7th.

The Los Angeles Opera and the Théâtre du Châtelet are co-producing, and in addition to Shore, Cronenberg is bringing aboard another vet from the film: his sister Denise, who is acting as costume designer. No word on who will star in the opera, which sounds kind of goofy yet interesting at the same time.

...A NI ARĐENTO NIJE ČITAV:
Dario Argento would have a hand in bringing his 1975 flick DEEP RED (aka PROFONDO ROSSO) to the stage.

According to the site, the show would be directed by Marco Daverio, and that Argento would serve as artistic supervisor. Longtime Argento collaborators Claudio Simonetti (of 'Goblin' fame) and Sergio Stivaletti would contribute to music and special FX, respectively. Casting is currently underway, and the show is in the early planning stages for a debut during the 2007-2008 season

BAUSMAN TESTERIŠE SKENERE!

Variety has reported that Darren Lynn Bousman, who directed SAW II and III and starts work on SAW IV in April, will take the helm of the long-aborning SCANNERS remake for Dimension Films. BLADE franchise veteran David S. Goyer will script the new version of David Cronenberg's seminal exploding-head shocker, updating the tale of warring telepaths to incorporate current themes of genetic manipulation and stem-cell research. The new SCANNERS' production team consists of Pierre David (executive producer of the original), Rene Malo (a producer on the subsequent sequels), Mark Burg and Oren Koules (whose Twisted Pictures backed the SAWs), Clark Peterson and Jessika Borsiczky Goyer.

Ako neko slučajno ne zna, u toku je snimanje filma The Mist, po Kingu. Režira Frank Darabont i izgleda da se prilično drži novele. Kasting je solidan, a i dosadašnji izveštaji sa seta su ohrabrujući...

Lijepe vijesti. Usudio bih se da kažem da je Mist sjajna pričica, vrlo filmljiva i nadam se da Darabont neće izmijeniti odlični kraj.

najesen, za sajam knjiga, očekuje se reprint prva 2 toma munitićeve (najbolje) knjige ČUDOVIŠTA KOJA SMO VOLELI, kao i - NOVI, 3. TOM S TIM NASLOVOM!!!

u njemu će valjda, najzad, da elaborira i novije naslove, iz poslednjih 30ak godina, budući da prva 2 toma pokrivaju pretežno stvari među kojima su najnovije one iz sredine 70ih...

umro je fredi frensis, prvorazredni direktor fotografije na nekim velikim žanrovskim filmovima kao što su CAPE FEAR (skorsezeov), DUNE (dobro, nije 'veliki' film, ali je fotografija odlična), THE ELEPHANT MAN, THE INNOCENTS, kao i drugorazredni režiser gomile osrednjih hororčića kao npr. DRACULA HAS RISEN FROM THE GRAVE, THE CREEPING FLESH, THE LEGEND OF THE WEREWOLF, TROG, the orignal TALES FROM THE CRYPT film, SON OF DRACULA.

ipak, samo zbog filma THE GHOUL zaslužio da mu pošaljem poslednju počast i izraz udivljenja.

na 1. strani topika kacio sam vest o jednom drugom projektu: izgleda da će nil, posle toga, da radi ovo:

Neil Jordan will rewrite and direct "Heart-Shaped Box," an adaptation of the horror novel by Joe Hill, for Warner Bros. Pictures. Akiva Goldsman is producing.

The book, published in February, centers on a rock star obsessed with the occult who buys a suit advertised at an online auction site as haunted by its dead owner's ghost. He ultimately is forced to confront the ghost and the demons of his own past.

Tom Pabst wrote the original draft.

Hill is the son of Stephen King, who chose his pen name out of a desire to succeed based on his own merits. After achieving some success -- among the awards he has collected are the Bram Stoker Award for best fiction collection -- he revealed his identity.

Jordan, repped by repped by CAA and Jenne Casarotto in the U.K., recently wrapped "The Brave One," starring Jodie Foster, for Warners. He most recently helmed 2005's "Breakfast on Pluto" and is attached to direct "A Killing on Carnival Row," a fantasy for New Line.

Screenwriter Joe Penhall has been set to adapt "The Road," Cormac McCarthy's post-apocalyptic novel that was chosen as the latest selection of the Oprah Winfrey book club.
John Hillcoat (PROPOSITION) will direct.

The book was acquired last fall by producers Nick Wechsler and Steve and Paula Mae Schwartz.

Story is about a father who transports his son to safety following a nuclear explosion and battles starving stragglers and marauding packs of cannibals in his way.

Wechsler said his partners put up the coin, and they intend to wait until they have a script and a star to play the father before they look to align the project with a distributor. Wechsler said the timing will not be affected by the Winfrey selection, which generally drives up book sales considerably.

"It's really about casting and making sure we get a script that satisfies the vision as expressed by Cormac in the book," Wechsler said.

THE ROAD takes place in a world that has undergone almost complete devastation: the sky is forever overcast, the forests are burnt to a crisp, there's no food in sight, and the only people you seem to meet are packs of beyond-depraved heathens who would like nothing more than to eat you. Our lead character is a nameless father who takes his son down an endless road south, in the hope that anything better than the current hell they live in exists there... Yeah, it ain't a barrel of laughs, and it won't be your average "horror movie" by any means, but make no mistake, the story is as creepy and unnerving as anything you're likely to read this or any other year.
