Come On Hollywood, Make These Movies Already!

   There's nothing more frustrating than having the stars and studios tease you with the possibilities of new films, then never making them. Some do it because they're trying to inject some hype, others just jump the gun and some just really WANT to do it but other actors/producers/studios are holding them back. The problem is, once you tell a horror fan we never forget - ever. Here's my list of films that have hit my brain and have yet to be removed. Come on Hollywood, get your arse in gear and bring us some more terror!


   Ghostbusters 3

   Ghostbusters 3: Update: Now in production as a video game - This is probably the one movie I want to see more than anything in the world. I don't care if it's CG or live-action, just do it already. Because of this movie not being made, we lost the cartoon, we lost the sweet show at Universal and we lost the ability to buy a Ghostbusters shirt at Target. Bill Murray, quit being a pain in the ass and take the pay cut, do this for the fans. Who you gonna call? Dan Aykroyd, that's who. He has the power to convince Murray. I'm putting it all on his shoulders now. Dan, you don't want the blame? Then do something about it.

   Nightmare on Elm Street Prequel

   Nightmare on Elm Street Prequel: The origins of Freddy Krueger told on the big screen... who doesn't want to see this?
(JA NE ŽELIM! ALI JA SAM UVEK U MANJINI!)  Out of all of the horror icons - Jason, Pinhead, Chucky, Michael - Freddy is by far the most popular. So why the hell is New Line Cinema taking so long to bring him back, especially after the success of the HALLOWEEN remake in theaters? I want my nightmares haunted and I want them haunted NOW! Get on it f-ckers before I find a way to mind-f-ck you.

   Hack/Slash

   Hack/Slash: Created by Tim Seeley and Stefano Caselli, comic books from Devil's Due Publishing center on Cassie Hack, a young woman who travels the country, taking on homicidal maniacs and serial killers along the way. What's cooler than that? Seriously? In a world of remakes it's so amazing that Rogue Pictures is even thinking about getting this unique adaptation into theaters. The question is, why the hell is it taking so long? Every couple weeks it sounds like it just might happen, but then it all goes silent again. Rogue - wake the f-ck up - we WANT THIS and we want it NOW! Can you imagine all of the cross-over possibilities, especially if they remake Child's Play?


   MEG

   MEG: The story features a 80-foot-long prehistoric shark -- scientifically known as Carcharodon megalodon and believed by some to be an ancestor of the great white shark -- which terrorizes the California coast. Two men from opposite points of view are forced to come together to neutralize the threat. New Line Cinema once owned the rights to this adaptation and had been showing off a tooth from the shark at various film markets. The tooth was bigger than my head. We saw concept art and what was in the works would have blown your freakin' mind. So what happened? Where the hell is this epic monster pic? MEG looks like a movie that would embarrass JAWS as this shark could eat King Kong if he wanted to. We're sure an inflated budget is the cause of MEG being M.I.A. - hopefully someone will conjure up some balls and make a bold move.

   Akira

   Akira: Update: Warner Bros. has revealed a director and is moving forward - We were teased with a possible live action adaptation of the popular Manga comic book, which is one of the best animated feature films of all time. After the film was announced nothing happened - nothing at all. Who has their head up their ass? Please e-mail me if it's you, I'd be more than happy to come over and help you remove it. Then I'll kick you in the nuts for making me wait this long. Ass.


   Evil Dead 4/Remake

   Evil Dead 4 or The Evil Dead remake: Ash (Bruce Campbell) needs to return and it needs to happen before he's a grandpa. All the fans want to see an EVIL DEAD 4 - but we know it will never happen. Sam Raimi, we love you, but come on man! There's only one person on the planet who can bring Ash back in a $40 million epic adventure and it's you - forget Spider-Man and go back to your roots. As for The Evil Dead remake, at this point I'll take it as I just want SOMETHING already. My patients are wearing thin and I'm about ready to pull the cord on my own chainsaw... and I won't give you any catchy lines with your demise.


   Spawn

   Spawn: The first movie sucks and it sucks bad. Since when did Spawn have a nose in the comic book? Yes, it's THAT bad. CGI has come a long way since then and it almost makes you wish the movie never happened as it was way premature. But with the new technologies and Todd McFarlane getting back to his roots maybe it's time for the suits to pull the trigger on this long-talked about remake. Bring me to hell... to each and every level.


   Indianapolis

   Indianapolis: Although this wasn't announced all that long ago, I want to know why in God's name it's not already shooting. Based on actual (terrifying) events, even referenced in JAWS, this film is a no brainer! Check this out: The story concerns WWII's U.S.S. Indianapolis, sunk by a Japanese sub following a secret mission to deliver materials for the atomic bomb that would be dropped on Hiroshima. The men floated for five days in the Philippine Sea; only 317 of an estimated 900 who abandoned ship were pulled from the shark-infested waters. Warner Bros. we need to see this, and based on what Xavier Gens tells me, you're going to be too late come 2008. Get a move on before you look like lame copycats.


   13

   13 remake of 13 Tzameti: The original is one of the best independent films I have ever seen. Imagine being desperate for money and someone offers you a solution - play a game of Russian Roulette with a bunch of other guys and if you live, you win money too! The movie was made for nearly nothing and it's black and white - we need a remake of this. This is something I could see Tarantino getting behind.

   House of Re-Animator

   House of Re-Animator: Stuart Gordon brings Dr. Herbert West into the White House for presidential madness. Who wouldn't want to see this? Why is it taking so long? Gordon has already done STUCK, EDMOND and MASTERS OF HORROR episodes... so why the freaking delay? Come on man, do it already! But please, no penis monster this time...


   Bubba Nosferatu: Curse of the She-Vampires

   Bubba Nosferatu: Curse of the She-Vampires: It's sounding as if this project is entering an even worse development hell as Bruce Campbell is said to be off the project. Without Bruce, what's the point of making it? Well, Kurt Russell is rumored to fill his shoes, which would be the ONLY saving grace for this king. So I ask Mr. Coscarelli, what's the heck is taking so long? And whatever studio owns the rights... get off your butt, we want more Elvis and Peanut Butter & Banana sandwiches.


   Phantasm 5

   Phantasm 5: Bruce Campbell was once rumored to star, but after the recent fallout (see above) who knows what's going to happen. Reggie Bannister stars in nothing but crap these days and Don hasn't don anything besides Masters of Horror. So I ask once again... what the heck is going on? Why do us horror fans have to keep begging and pleading? Worst of all is that we COULD have had an amazing new trilogy remade at New Line, but Mr. Coscarelli reneged on the deal. Thanks dude. Now we get nothing. Man this pisses me off to no end. >:[


   Silent Hill 2
(MA KOGA JE BRIGA ZA OVO? OSIM ONIH KOJIMA SE PRVI ZAPRAVO *DOPAO*???)
   Silent Hill 2: The first film was a huge success, even though reviews weren't glowing. The adaptation of the popular video game remains one of the most popular films in our database, which means fans are into this franchise. If RESIDENT EVIL can be so crappy and make so much money, why can't SILENT HILL? And if a new RESIDENT can be greenlit every two years, why the f-ck hasn't a sequel to HILL been announced? Mr. Culpepper, respectfully... what the HELL!? There's no excuse for not getting this sucker made and I'm beginning to lose patients.


   X-Files 2

   X-Files 2: Update: Shooting this December! - Need I say more? EVERYONE wants this, everyone will see it. The problem is we've been waiting so long that they really need to live up to the hype. Furthermore, David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson haven't done crap in years, there's no reason this shouldn't be on fast track. I'm starting to think this movie will be made when pigs fly. I really hope I'm eating flying pig bacon come 2008...


   Jeepers Creepers 3

   Jeepers Creepers 3: Update: MGM is moving forward on this title! - We all know about Victor Salva's terrible past, but that shouldn't stop us from wanting another JEEPERS CREEPERS film. I don't care who makes it, I just want it. I think the Creeper is pretty damn cool and the franchise has infinite possibilities. Too bad the MGM debacle f'd this one in the A. No pun intended, or yeah, wait, nevermind...


   Alien 5

   Alien 5: Sigourney Weaver's idea... send Ripley back to the planet to blow it up. I'm sold, you're sold, why the heck isn't James Cameron sold? James, enough with $300 million dollar retardo movies, I want me some 3-D Aliens action and I want it now! James.... wear a cup when we cross paths, you need a kick in the nuts.


   We3

   We3: Yet another film idea sitting in New Line's dusty shelves. The comic book, featuring violent half-robot animals, is uber popular. Comic book fans know this series and I'm sure they'd turn out to see this in theaters. I'm starting to wonder if New Line has any money left after two crappy years as they've announced about 300 billion movies and only seem to be making two.

Pa meni se čini da većina ovih filmova ipak ne zaslužuje da bude most anticipated. Mislim, SILENT HILL 2    ili prošlost Fredija Krugera (kao da ga nisu dovoljno ismijali u nastavcima serijala). Ili npr. X-Files 2, kao da prvi dio nije bio dovoljno glup. Od ovih navedenih vrlo bih volio da vidim Jeepers Creepers 3, kao i onaj sa ogromnom ajkulom.

Ono u čemu smo deficitarni posljednjih godina / decenija jesu
1) filmovi sa zarazom, u stilu Kronenbergovih prvih filmova
2) filmovi sa vukodlacima
3) filmovi sa vampirima (mislim, PRAVI filmovi sa vampirima, bez pucnjave, eksplozija i tijesno pripijenih kožnih kostima)
4) kvalitetno obrađen last-(wo)man-on-earth motiv
itd.

Ja bi volio videti filmove koji se cijeli desavaju u psihijatrijskim ustanovama zatvorenog tipa, za criminally insane, znaci nesto poput Session 9 samo da nije napustena zgrada, i tako, misteriozne smrti na odeljenjima, spuki nocne smene, krici koji odzvanjaju hodnicima, plac, cika, medicinska braca koja maltretiarju pacijente i vezuju ih, pa onda shok terapije, psihopatske sestre ko ona iz ONE FLEW OVER, pa onda tako izmedju se provlaci price o nekim pacijentima koji su uradili to i to, tipa satanista zaklo majku, a kao oni su na odvojenim odeljenjima ko u Zombijevom Helovinu, uglavnom ta tema me nekako dojmi, a takvih filmova osim Shok Koridora (mada to je drugi fazon - light varijanta) prakticno i nema.

Sine, iako se ne uklapa u potpunosti u taj tvoj trip, mislim da bi ti dobro lego Chaindance (1991). Da ne spojlujem, reći ću samo da su Michael Ironside i Brad Dourif (posebno on) briljirali. Dobijaš ovde i robijaše i pacijente po ceni jednog.
Ako ti je do misterioznih smrti na odeljenjima, spuki noćnih smena, krici koji odzvanjaju hodnicima... overi Madhouse (2004). Mene nešto i nije oduševio, al ima finih spuki momenata tako da...
Ah da, uskoro će Shutter Island. To poprilično obećava da je zlo i naopako.
