Nedovoljno horora. A Ravenous sam davno gledala, pamtim ga kao solidan i vrlo interesantan film sa odlicnom ekipom glumaca.

Za 80% naslova nisam nikad ni čuo, a odgledao sam svega nekoliko. Preporuka za odlični Faithless sa Liv Ullman sa druge strane kamere, a po Bergmanovom scenariju.

Naletim na ovaj intervju koji je Rodzer Korman vodio sa rediteljkom, obicno nisam zainteresovana za ovakve razgovore, ali danas sam u 'zoni'. Govori o svom poreklu, zasto nije razmisljala da snima Devojku...u Iranu, kako zamislja prijem svog filma u postojbini svojih roditelja, svom radu, interesovanjima i novom filmu The Bad Batch, koji ce biti 'na engleskom, u boji i o kanibalima' dakle neki postapokalipticni scenario...Ana zakljucuje: 'so, a love story'. :)

ne bih da se narocito upustam u temu

licno, besmisleno mi je to deljenje na umetnicke stvaraoce na osnovu pola
narocito sto je sad popularno favorizovanje zenskog ovoga ili onoga (zenski film, zenska umetnost - stagod to bilo.. itd) kao i trans ovo ili ono, ili gej ovo ili ono.
umetnost i nauka nisu sport, u kom je (vecinom) presudna fizickakonstitucija, te samim tim imamo podelu na polove
i smatram da je sramotno favorizovati neke autore jer su (ili nisu) odredjenog pola ili seksualne preferencije
kvalitetno umetnicko delo nema pola, vec je univerzalno

i uopste ne razumem cemu potreba da se posebno razmatraju dela rediteljki u odnosu na dela reditelja
film je dobar ili nije

sta je sledece "filmovi vegetarijanaca, da li su zaista bolji od filmova koje prave normalni ljudi"?

Oooh, hvala mac! Svaka lista koja ukljucuje Alien ima moju naklonost  :|
Interesantno ih je uporediti, na zvanicnoj listi ima dosta ratnih (Vijetnam), na listi filmskih novinarki koliko vidim nijedan. :) Makar se slazu oko Hickoka. I dame su ubacile nekoliko odlicnih horora 8-) I Bergmana!

Bret Easton Ellis is doing a week-long series at Movieline discussing his novels' screen adaptations. Up today: American Psycho, which was directed by Mary Harron. Asked by Kyle Buchanan about re-evaluating his stance on women directors after seeing Andrea Arnold's Fish Tank, Ellis said he'd also liked The Runaways.

But for the most part I'm not totally convinced, [except for] Andrea Arnold, Kathryn Bigelow, Sofia Coppola...

Mary Harron to a degree. There's something about the medium of film itself that I think requires the male gaze.

What would that be?

We're watching, and we're aroused by looking, whereas I don't think women respond that way to films, just because of how they're built.

You don't think they have an overt level of arousal?

[They have one] that's not so stimulated by the visual. I think, to a degree, all the women I named aren't particularly visual directors. You could argue that Lost in Translation is beautiful, but is that [cinematographer Lance Acord]? I don't know. Regardless of the business aspect of things, is there a reason that there isn't a female Hitchcock or a female Scorsese or a female Spielberg? I don't know. I think it's a medium that really is built for the male gaze and for a male sensibility. I mean, the best art is made under not an indifference to, but a neutrality [toward] the kind of emotionalism that I think can be a trap for women directors. But I have to get over it, you're right, because so far this year, two of my favorite movies were made by women, Fish Tank and The Runaways. I've got to start rethinking that, although I have to say that a lot of the big studio movies I saw last year that were directed by women were far worse than the sh***y big-budget studio movies that were directed by men.

Which are we talking about?
I mean, do I want to say this on the record? Did you see The Proposal? Anyway, whatever.

Hvala za listu, svakako je interesantna. prvo, kao neko vrlo neupucen u pogledu slashera, nisam znala da je toliko zena kao izraz izabralo bas ovaj podzanr.  :)

pitanje je koliko su neki od njih "esencijalni" filmovi, no kako nisam gledala ne bih da budem prekriticna. neki naslovi se stalno ponavljaju, pa mi je stoga drago sto su izabrani "lesser" filmovi 80tih, npr. ja bih dodala Kusamin novi The Invitation o kome je vec bilo dosta reci na forumu i Evolution Lusil Hadzihalilovic, sto se tice ove filmske 2015/16 godine.

sa liste me je zainteresovao japanski film Organ.

Organ je jedan od najmučnijih filmova koje sam (verovatno ikad) gledao. Davno je to bilo, pre više od 15 godina, pa nisam siguran kako bih sada reagovao. Ali nije nešto što bih ikome preporučio olako.

pa, bar pobija teoriju da zene prave meke i sentimentalne filmove, ili filmove bez ostrice (or some such thing) ako se tako nesto moglo i pomisliti posle uradaka francuskih rediteljki, na primer (Trouble every Day, Baise Moi, Dans ma Peau)

Sofia Coppola Begins Production on The Beguiled Remake

QuoteProduction is officially underway in Louisiana on writer and director Sofia Coppola's The Beguiled remake, which reteams the filmmaker with Focus Features. The script for the new film is adapted by Coppola from Thomas Cullinan's original novel of the same name. The Beguiled remake cast includes Golden Globe winner Colin Farrell (In Bruges, The Lobster), Academy Award winner Nicole Kidman (The Hours, Stoker), Emmy nominee Kirsten Dunst (Melancholia, Spider-Man) and Elle Fanning (The Neon Demon, Super 8). The Beguiled remake marks the fourth collaboration between Coppola and Dunst and the second between Coppola and Fanning.

The Beguiled unfolds in a girls' school in the state of Virginia in 1864. As the Civil War rages, The Miss Martha Farnsworth Seminary for Young Ladies has been sheltered from the outside world— until the day a wounded Union soldier is discovered nearby and taken in.

Additional cast for The Beguiled remake include Oona Laurence (Pete's Dragon, Bad Moms), Emma Howard (Transparent), Angourie Rice (The Nice Guys) and Addison Riecke (The Thundermans).

Anne Ross is serving as production designer on The Beguiled, marking her own fifth collaboration with Coppola. The film's costume designer is Stacey Battat, (her fourth collaboration). The director of photography on The Beguiled remake is Academy Award nominee Philippe Le Sourd (The Grandmaster), and the movie is being shot on 35mm film.

"It is personally and professionally a pleasure to be making a movie with Sofia Coppola again," says Focus chairman Peter Kujawski. "The twisted turns of the story, combined with Sofia's empathy for the characters being portrayed by these gifted actors, will keep audiences in suspense. Everyone at Focus is thrilled to be bringing The Beguiled to theaters next summer."

Focus holds worldwide rights to the film as part of the company's renewed global initiative. Focus will release The Beguiled remake domestically in select cities on June 23, 2017 in the U.S., with an expansion on June 30, 2017; and Universal Pictures International (UPI) will distribute the film globally, beginning in the summer of 2017.
