Now he's producing the sequel and both remakes mentioned above through his Koa Films Entertainment brand. Though not much is known about the plots for any, we were informed that Piranha 3-D will shoot at a remote snow resort in the U.S., Beyond the Door will be remade between Chicago and Bangkok, and Demons Underground will take place in Chicago.

Dosao je na red i remake najpoznatijeg filma drugopozivca Paula Lyncha...

Producent i scenarista J. S. Cardone (koji je zasluzan za zlodela, kao sto su THE FORSAKEN, WICKED LITTLEE THINGS i THE COVENANT) je najavio da će novo Matursko vece ciljati na oznaku PG-13, sto je sasvim suludo imajuci u vidu da se radi o slasher-u... Starletica Brittany Snow ce zameniti Jamie Lee; a plot outline ide ovako:

Takodje, J. S. je najavio da priprema i remake filma THE STEPFATHER

Jos dva slashera ce biti rimejkovana - odlicni TERROR TRAIN, i ne bas kvalitetni HE KNOWS YOU'RE ALONE. (Ovaj drugi bi i mogao biti dobar kandidat ra rimejk - ako nista drugo, ima odlican pocetak u bioskopu - koji je kasnije Vilijamson pokrao u Vrisku 2.)

Setio sam se ovog topika, pa rekoh da ga oživim...

Naime, rimejk frenzija ne jenjava! Naprotiv. Još tri voljena naslova su doživela da budu "umivena" za novostasalu publiku.

Interesantno je da 2/3 idu pravo na DVD...

Steve Miner je režirao Day of the Dead remake... O ovom filmu je već bilo reči na forumu (čak je u opticaju bila i informacija da je Srđanu Dragojeviću u jednom trenutku ponuđeno da režira), a čini se da je krajnji rezultat izuzetno loš: čim je preskočena planirana bioskopska distribucija. Potražite na netu užasnu sliku koja "krasi" DVD i shvatićete da su svi digli ruke od ovog filma...

Butcher bros. su potpisali April Fool's Day remake, koji, možda, neće biti toliko loš. The Hamiltons su bili sasvim solidan indi, nadam se da će AFD biti na dostojnom nivou. Nova Laurie, Scout Taylor-Compton, glumi jednu od glavnih uloga.

Ranije pomenuti Prom Night remake je snimljen i spreman za bioskopsku distribuciju. Trailer je već dostupan i deluje UŽASNO! Bedna PG-13 bljuvotina, gotovo izvesno.

Naravno, ja se radujem svim ovim naslovima. Bring it on!  

Kad smo kod mahnite groznice obrada,u postprodukciji je i istoimeni americki rimejk masterpiecea korejskog horora A Tale of Two Sisters Ji-woon Kima u reziji brace Guard.....zvuci sumnjivo.

January 30: NIGHTMARE, WOLF MAN remake updates

Variety reports that the oft-mooted NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET remake is officially a go at New Line Cinema. Platinum Dunes, the Michael Bay-headed company that's also behind New Line's FRIDAY THE 13TH redux (to be helmed by Marcus Nispel of the TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE update), will produce the new NIGHTMARE, which is intended to launch a fresh franchise. A scripter for the latest Freddy Krueger flick will be hired as soon as the current Writers Guild strike ends; it has not been announced whether a new origin scenario will be part of this feature.

Meanwhile, the trade reports that director Mark Romanek has dropped out of the new WOLF MAN movie he was to helm for Universal, due to conflicts over the budget and other creative issues. A replacement for Romanek, a music-video veteran who scored with the Robin Williams-starring thriller ONE HOUR PHOTO, will likely be announced by the end of this week. THE WOLF MAN will topline Benicio Del Toro in the title role, with Anthony Hopkins and Emily (WIND CHILL) Blunt co-starring and Rick Baker handling the FX; it's budgeted at $100 million, and Universal plans to get it rolling in Britain in March. It's unclear whether they'll try to stick to the previously announced February 13, 2009 release berth, which is getting awfully crowded, with the aforementioned FRIDAY THE 13TH and Lionsgate's MY BLOODY VALENTINE remakes also having claimed the date. —Michael Gingold

Hmmm,,, Znam da je APRIL FOOL's DAY remake dočekan na nož, ali meni je sasvim legao. Doduše, nova verzija je triler, nije slasher, tako da je to verovatno jedan od razloga za bes. Glavna glumica je, ako to nekog zanima, apsolutno prelepa, samo zbog nje vredi gledati film.

Nego, već kada pominjem slasher remake...

Prvi utisak je da je neko odlučio da snimi HOSTEL u vozu. Takođe, nije se štedelo na golotinji. Trailer je krcat golišavim prizorima, gotovo kao da se radi o porniću.

Ah, vidim da si upeo. Glume Savina Geršak i Igor Pervić. Ti koprodukcioni horrori snimani u Jugi su krš i lom. Happy Hell Night je užasan.

Moram znači i to da pogledam  

u HHN se Tatjana Pujin skida. A Gala Videnović je obučena u sexy kostim i zavezana za krevet.

PROM NIGHT remake je gotovo pa vantelesno iskustvo. Stigao sam do pola, neviđeno je. Naravno, film je loš, to se i očekivalo, ali scene ubistava su "antologijske". Naime, iz rana krv jedva da malo curne. Fun times!

Summary: Based on the book on which Alfred Hitchcock's silent classic is also based. A grizzled detective is on the trail of a ruthless killer intent on slaughtering prostitutes along West Hollywood's Sunset Strip, one using grisly methods are identical to that of Jack the Ripper.

Analysis: Despite the likes of Molina, Davis and helmer Ondaatje involved, the January dumping date and quick-to-DVD release plan bode ill tidings for this thriller. The updating of the story to contemporary LA, though saving on expenses, has turned it into a very generic looking serial killer movie.

Summary: Remake of the 1972 film "The Last House on the Left" directed by Wes Craven. A pair of adventurous teen girls are kidnapped, raped and murdered by a gang of thugs. The killers unwittingly hole up in the home of one victim's parents, who, upon realizing what their guests did, devise gruesome revenge.

Analysis: The original torture porn, Wes Craven's debut feature with its graphic rape and very believable tone remains his darkest and most confronting film to date, so much so it was banned for many years in several countries. Now comes the inevitable remake which will probably beef up the violent gore, town down the sexual violence, and essentially deliver a more mainstream interpretation.

Summary: A remake of the classic 1978 Australian thriller. The original features a couple under marital strain who set off for the coast for a vacation. As their weekend rolls on, nature inexplicably begins to react quite unkindly to this couple's presence.

Analysis: One of the classic cheesy 70's Ozploitation films gets a remake by "Valentine" and "Urban Legends" helmer Jamie Blanks. The theme of the environment fighting back is a more interesting one in our more enviromentally aware day and age, but it also invites comparisons to last year's odious "The Happening". Reviews for the film out of Toronto indicated this could be a surprise little sleeper for horror fans.

Summary: Much like the Oscar-winning original, directed by Alan Parker, the story will track the failures and fortunes of super-ambitious young performers and their teachers as they navigate a school year at the prestigious High School for the Performing Arts in New York.

Analysis: An unnecessary remake, the idea here is to obviously cash in on a whole new soundtrack and a re-release of the title number. Other than that, its a generic cast of young-uns - headlined by teen hunk Thomas Dekker from "Heroes" and the "Terminator" TV series - meeting some great older actors who obviously seem to be here to collect a paycheck. One of 2009's more cynical endeavours.

A kad smo već kod Carpentera nadam se da se ovaj rimejk nikada neće desiti (uostalom, zar nije snimanje zamrznuto na neodređeno?) i da ćemo nekim čudom (a i kako drugačije) konačno dobiti još jedan (završni) Escape from... film sa Kurt Russellom u glavnoj ulozi, pošto niko drugi NE MOŽE da igra Snejka Pliskena, pa makar Carpenter i ne režirao. Dakle, mrzim ovaj rimejk iz principa, ukoliko bude snimljen...

Mislim da je Aja one-hit wonder  

Vezano za Očuha - evo vidim da nam je Kunac donio loše vijesti, naime da je rimejk već snimljen. Sad je naravno kasno za bilo kakvo lamentovanje, ali meni je ovo jedan od školskih primjera filma u kome apsolutno ništa ne može ni na koji način da se popravi nabolje (osim eventualno da umjesto T&A u sceni tuširanja bude full frontal), ali mnogo toga može da pođe po zlu. Ono što je odmah očigledno je nemogućnost bilo koga da zamijeni genijalnog i vazda potcijenjenog Terija O'Kvina.

Vidim da su opsano prčkali sa scenarijem... Tj, promenili su jednu veoma važnu stvar::: spoiler alert::: u novoj verziji kćerka preživljava i ona je ta koja otkriva identitet ubica svojim roditeljima::: END SPOILER. Ne znam kako će ova izmena funkcionisati ali je jasno da znatno menja ton filma. Btw, ovaj HD trailer je bio previše ambiciozan za moj komp, trailer sam pogledao  YOUTUBE varijanti.

Ta izmjena mi se ne sviđa. Jasno je da je originalni Last House on the Left katastrofalno loš film i da rimejk može da bude gori samo ako se svojski potrude, ali izgleda da su baš odlučili da se potrude.
S druge strane, cast obećava. Vidim da je tu Monika Poter, a bogme i harizmatični Toni Goldvin.

Pogledao. Trejler obećava. Toni Goldvin je sjajan u glavnoj (?) ulozi. U svakom slučaju film će biti bolji od originala, a koliko dobar - vidjećemo.

Originalna Krejvenova Poslednje kuća levo je jedan mali, jeftin,  prljav film koji je na nivou zapleta direktno pokrao Bergmanov Devičanski izvor.

Ni ja ne volim puno original, ali mu moram skinuti kapu za hrabrost.  (Mada se ta hrabrost može nazvati nemaštovitoću i lenošću da se izmeni originalni Bergmanov koncept.) Nastao na talasu surove eksploatacije, PKL danas ne bi mogao biti snimljen na način na koji je to uradio Krejven.

Vredi ga pogledati samo jednom - i to vrebati dan kada ste posebno mazohistički raspoloženi - i onda DVD/DiVX pokloniti nekom ko vam nije drag...

A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET
No official plot yet, but the original film told the story of a child murderer named Fred Krueger, who was burned to death after the town decided to fight back agianst his crimes. Now Fred's spirit haunts the dreams of the teenaged children of the lynch mob that killed him.

ALICE, SWEET ALICE
The original followed the murder of a young girl during her first communion and the series of murders after that all seem to point towards the deceased girl's older sister named "Alice."

ANGEL HEART
Follows the exploits of Harry Angel, a New York detective hired by a mysterious client to track down a once-popular performer indebted to him. While pursuing this seemingly routine investigation, Harry encounters dark and supernatural forces.

ART OF THE DEVIL
No official plot yet, but the original followed a group of high school kids who fall victim to supernatural tattoos.

ANGUISH (Angustia)
No official plot yet, but the original followed the audience in a small movie theater as they watch a film about an optometrist on a killing spree, only to be stalked and killed by a maniac in the theater.

THE CHANGELING
The original was about a man who tries to solve the mystery behind the mysterious happenings in his new home.
AT THE END OF THE SPECTRA (Al final del espectro, 2006...kolumbijski horor)
The original film follows a woman whose father coaxes her into getting her own place after a tragedy turns her into an agoraphobic. Instead of helping her illness, she becomes a recluse and starts seeing a ghost within the apartment.

BATTLE ROYALE
No official plot yet, but the original was set in Japan, where violence among the youth have sky-rocketed, leaving the government to create a program dubbed "Battle Royale", in which a class of 40-something jr. high students are sent to a remote island to battle one another, with only one to survive.
-New Line's planned remake of the cult-classic Japanese film Battle Royale. It turns out that contrary to what was reported by our source, Variety, the studio has not completed acquiring the rights just yet. But otherwise the Americanized version is on its way toward production. So far, fans of the original are outraged at the idea and many people are baffled at how New Line is going to handle the violent story of a class of 9th graders who have to kill each other. Surely, they think New Line is going to screw it up by toning it down.-

THE BROOD
The film will center on a woman who undergoes medical treatment that causes her inner rage to physically manifest itself.

FRANKENSTEIN (IN TALKS)
No official plot yet, but the original told the story of a mad scientist named Dr. Frankenstein, whose obsession to reanimate the dead using various body parts brings forth a being that's forced to live with the fact that he is a monster.
-Guillermo Del Toro has revealed that he plans to helm a remake of Frankenstein.

The Pan's Labyrinth director said he had always been interested in making a new version of the story and is currently involved in pre-production.

He explained that he is unable to develop a script due to the ongoing WGA strike, but is working on designs which he hopes will form the basis of the film.

He told MTV: "I started doing some notes before the strike. I can only draw now."

He joked that he would be the third star of the movie alongside Frankenstein and his monster, saying: "I will appear shirtless for most of the length of the film. You will be amazed at my chocolate bar physique!"

Describing his "definitive take" on the story, he added: "The only way to do the Shelley novel is to actually do a four-hour miniseries. But I think there are permutations in which you can tell the myth in a different way."

Del Toro was recently rumoured to be directing a big-screen version of cult '60s sci-fi series The Champions.
