Film je slab. Napravljen je kao niz fanovskih i svima poznatih anegdota, bez ikakvog zalazenja u neverovatan emotivni i duhovni svet Serza Genzbura. Sve je ostalo na povrsini, tako da se film zaboravi vec na izlasku iz bioskopa.

Skinuo sam nedavno SEX & DRUGS & ROCK & ROLL, priču o Ianu Djuriju sa Endijem Serkisom u glavnoj ulozi. Detaljniji rivju slijedi kad odgledam film - koliko sam vidio na letimično pregledanje, Serkis facijalno dosta liči na Djurija i lijepo mu je skinuo pokrete, ali to ne bi moglo da se kaže i za glas u pjesmama, koji je previše hrapav i režeći (Djuri jeste povremeno tako zvučao, ali ne uvijek). Takođe, potpuno bizarno je što je, ako sam dobro vidio, Džon Turnbul ovde ljevak.

...sinoć sam pogledao BBC biopic CHRISTOPHER AND HIS KIND  koji se većinski dotiče berlinski dana znamenitog Christophera Isherwooda (čija je proza nadanhula autore CABARETa, a po čijem je romanu Tom Ford lane sročio vanserijski uspeo film A SINGLE MAN)... BBC je BBC, tu spora nema, te se produkcinione vrednosti mirne duše mogu uzeti kao datost; sa druge strane, reditelj Geoffrey Sax nije autor širokog zamaha i velikih ideja, ipak uspeva da ponudi biopic koji ima smisla i koji je više od puke ilustracije doživljaja iz jednog perioda života jednog suštinski neprijatnog/nesimpatičnog lika kakav je Isherwood svakako bio... ništa epoholno, ali služi srvsi i na dovoljno zanimljiv način ukazuje i podseća na nesvakidašnju, neporecivo intrigantnu i višestruko značajnu pojavu (inače, Isherwooda ovde glumi za ovaj forum značajnii sve značajniji Matt Smith)...

It's not bad, and I'm saying this as a man who doesn't like Culture Club and/or 80's gay subculture. I was quite glad to see that Boy George owes a hell of a lot to Siouxsie and to the folks from the early Gothic rock scene. I adored the Malcolm McLaren episode, and that after all the movie goes to show that Boy George is not musician, he comes off as a guy who became a celebrity just because of his personality. You see that after all you can't say that without some talented musicians around him he'd achieve so much ... And knowing his pop history after Culture Club you must agree that he went into the where are they now cabinet. I had a few drinks, and I think I'll change my mind in the morning, but after all I must say - nice film. Odoh na spavanje ...
