U, baš lepo. Plus nova pesma. Pretpostavljam ne nova nova, nego neobjavljena, ali svejedno, sjajno.

upravo tako. malo je teže da naprave novu pesmu, obzirom da je Džejms Stinson rahmetli, ali je upravo on najavio nekoliko meseci pred smrt da imaju gomilu traka sa neobjavljenim numerama, pa je za nadati se da će i naredni nastavci sadržati još po nešto ranije neobjavljivano.

edit: zaboravih da kažem da su pesme remasterovane (Alden Tajrel je radio novi master, po meni prilično dobro), i da su se već našle matore prdonje koje kenjaju kako se remasterovanjem izgubio osećaj koji su imale originalne ploče koje je rezao (takođe rahmetli) Ron Marfi, a u stvari im je samo krivo što ne mogu više da se lože da jedini imaju kompletnu Drexciya diskografiju koja vredi iljade dolara.

Music From Saharan Cellphones is
surely one of our most anticipated,
exotic deliveries of the year. Serving
both a glimpse into the rich
contemporary culture of the Trans-Sahara
and a bunch of music youve likely never
encountered before, it comprises nine
tracks transferred via bluetooth from
the mobile phones of residents in Kidal,
Northern Mali at the beginning of 2010.
Apparently, across Western Africa
everyone loves playing music thru their
phones loudspeaker - a practice which
is usually, unfortunately frowned upon
in the UK and elsewhere - with popular
tracks simply spread via bluetooth from
person to person, phone to phone,
creating a profuse and uncontainable
sonic landscape as diverse and transient
as the sand ocean "port-towns"
themselves. Kidal is one of these
metaphorical docks, a major hub in the
Saharan network, linking North Africa
with Sub Saharan regions and further
beyond, and its also the locus of the
records compiler, Christopher Kirkleys
attentions. He collected these tracks at
night, swapping mp3s from his own
collection for everything from local
Tuareg anthems to DIY, auto-tuned HipHop
produced on cracked software. We reckon
youll be genuinely surprised and
delighted at discoveries like Group
Anmataffs melancholy, low-slung
Algerian drum machine and guitar groove
Tinariwen or the intricate drum
programming and microtonal keyboard
flourishes of Negib Ould Ngainichs
Guetna, but best of all has to be the
emphatic emotions of Mdou Moctars
swaying autotune ballad Tahoultine or
Bayta Ag Bays forlorn guitar on
Aicha. OK, granted, the bitrates
(included on the insert) are poor, but
the mastering makes them quite
acceptable, and really if youve still
got gripes with it then youre seriously
missing the point. And while the irony
of these tracks being transferred from
mp3 to vinyl shouldnt be lost on you,
its nevertheless a marvellous,
beautiful record which has already had
The Guardian and The Wire singing its
praises, if that makes any difference.

Frak-Muzika_Electronic-LP-2012-BCC

When I really think about it, it utterly
blows my mind that FRAK has been around
for 25 years now. They have been the
talisman of Swedens inimitable Börft
label since its inception. Over the
course of dozens of tapes, 12"s, and
full-lengths this group has known no
real boundaries. It is alien music in
every sense of the word. Even if each
track offers something different to the
narrative, the album keeps a connective
tissue running throughout. After 25
years, FRAK is showing no signs of age.

"Muzika Electronic" is a mix of skewed
dance music paired with heavy doses of
modular synthesizer exploration and
bizarro pop. Its all brand new,
recorded specifically for Digitalis.
FRAK is constantly skirting the line
between minimal dance music and noise
music, often finding new and innovative
spaces to occupy and exploit. Album
opener "Voyage No. 1" embodies this to
perfection. Slow-moving rhythms provide
the backbone while looping, crusty
synths spin around, spiked with
dizzying, high-pitched melodies. It
seems odd at first, but as an
introduction to what is contained within
the sonic walls of "Muzika Electronic,"
it starts this journey off right. It
flows into the deceptively catchy
"Tristesse Dance" like magic. You will
find yourself hooked on the cyclical
bassline within a few bars.

FRAKs pop sensibilities are most on
display, though, with the New Order-
tinged "Pulse-Crack." Wide-eyed leads
mesh into the pulsating bass
undercurrents, riding a blissed-out
electronic wave into outer space. It is
absolutely hypnotizing. The robotic
vocals of "Varje Dag" and "In Order to
Create" are swimming in a sci-fi glow.
This is music that is wrestling with
itself, never sure if it is searching
for the future of dance music or
harkening back to its past. That
dichotomy, though, is what drives
"Muzika Electronic" into so many great
and unexpected realms. Ultimately, this
is a place we all should want to be.

Meni se pre uopšte nisu dopadali, ovo je prvi njihov album koji sam preslušao do kraja. Kraće su pesme, jednostavnije i psihodeličnije. Naravno, vokal je i dalje iritantan.

Pop. 1280-The Horror (Sacred Bones, 2012)

New York's Pop. 1280 are back with their debut full-length for Sacred Bones, The Horror. This record comes almost one year after their highly-praised EP The Grid, and it finds the band exploring new territory and perversions. Chief songwriters Chris Bug and Ivan Lip are now joined by drummer Zach Ziemann (ex-Twin Stumps) and bassist/sonic manipulator Pascal Ludet. Recording for The Horror took place at the Python Patrol basement studios in Brooklyn with engineer Ben Greenberg (Z's, Pygmy Shrews). The Horror showcases a lot more improvisation and in-studio writing, giving the album a darker, more unhinged organic feeling. This new approach let the band stretch out more, and while they haven't lost the synth-punk skronk that has gotten them compared to Pussy Galore, D.A.F. and Cop Shoot Cop, The Horror adds longer songwriting explorations and psychedelic-scapes that reference bands like Cabaret Voltaire, Chrome, and early Sonic Youth. Thematically, The Horror finds Pop. 1280 stepping out of the cyberspace of The Grid and into the deserted beaches, highways and plains of a surreal hell. It's the road album for the post-apocalypse.

In the year since their EP came out, Pop. 1280 have toured the East Coast and Midwest extensively with label-mates Cult of Youth, fellow pig-fuckers Pygmy Shrews, and Twin Stumps. They have been featured in Impose, Stereogum, and The Village Voice (twice) and got glowing reviews on Agit Reader, Vice, and Dusted. Additionally, Blind Prophet Records released a stunning new 7-inch in October 2010, and the band have been very active in their hometown of NYC, playing key shows throughout the fall and winter 0f 2011. 2012 though, is the year for these armageddoners. Get ready or die trying.

The Men-Open Your Heart (Sacred Bones, 2012)

For hardcore (or post-hardcore) Brooklyn DIY types — their lives a jumble of comically seedy underground shows held in basement dungeons, dank warehouses, condemned lofts, wisely abandoned storefronts, and so forth — no sound is so elusive and fantastical as actual crickets, no sight as wondrous as the sky's own stars. You long for that stuff, eventually, no matter how urban and cosmopolitan you fancy yourself. Everybody's going to the country, as the song goes, if only for a day trip — even the dudes really into Jesus Lizard. We join the Men, now, in their temporarily-back-to-nature moment.

You may have met this thoughtfully violent quartet in 2011, via their feral, abstract-expressionist breakthrough full-length Leave Home, which comes closest to aurally conjuring up the possibly-already-on-fire Williamsburg cavern where music like this was meant to be heard. Their hurricane-gale shoegaze mosaics radiated the druggy hypnosis of Krautrock, the caustic spite of no wave, the slithering lethality of Amphetamine Reptile noise-punk. You could feel the curb between your teeth, particularly during the harrowing David Yow mash note "L.A.D.O.C.H.," one of those brutally slow, lung-shredding, grotesque-construction-accident-percussion numbers. Even through headphones it felt like a death sentence. The rest of the record, though just as gnarly and overdriven, but far cheerier and even goofier (song title: "Shittin' with the Shah"), barely survives it.

Open Your Heart improves the band's focus even as it widens its range, ditching the harrowing, hacking-death-cough stuff and reaching for something more... let's say "pastoral." Eventually. First, though, comes leadoff track "Turn It Around," whose thrilling opening seconds are pure Freedom Rock, a simple, naked, titanic riff unabashed in its maxed-out-car-stereo virility. Makes you want to buy a Camaro. A lumbering, prismatic, art-punk squall soon engulfs it, an only slightly fancier and finer-tuned version of the stark ferocity emblematic of the Sacred Bones label's best stuff. "Animal" hits even harder, the snarling riff just as classic and epochal, sparkling with both bone-crunching intensity and sly wit. "I'm an animal!" howls Chris Hansell, one of several lead-singing Men; "He's an animal!" chirp a pack of approving females in response.
