Hm, ovaj Autechre je prema nfo fajlu ripovan sa digitalnog originala, ali na početku se čuju uobičajeni šumovi puštanja ploče. Je li to samo metadodatak kojim nas Šon i Rob podsećaju where it's at ili šta???

pa pretpostavljam da je dodatak, obzirom da se verzija na vinilu očekuje početkom marta.

e sad, ja taj šum čujem samo na prvoj pesmi, ali me podseća više na šum trake nego ploče. ploča ima onaj karakterističan brum koji nastaje prilikom rezanja mastera (50 ili 60Hz, u zavisnosti da li je rezana u Evropi ili Americi), koji ovde ne primećujem.

Nije baš album ali je dosta dobro. Elektro Guzzi su, dakako ONAJ bend koji pravi minimal tehno bez kompjutera i sekvencera, dakle u znoju lica svog svirajući "prave" instrumente, mada to meni zaista ništa ne bi značilo da muzika nije solidna. Novi EP je dosta dobra ekstenzija dosadašnjeg rada:

bilo bi super ako bi neko znao kako se zove onaj bend koji je doshao i svirao skc krajem devedesetih; ne secam se nichega osim da je frontmen bio crnac koji u videu u glat opeglanoj uniformi peva direkt u kameru. nije bilo puno gostovanja u tom periodu, setice se valjda neko. na vrh mi je jezika.

Na papiru, činilo mi se da je ideja baš jednostavna. Želeo sam da "na jednom mestu" okupim sve muzičare (ili bar većinu), koji su tokom poslednjih desetak godina, od prvog koncert POP Depresije (Nina Nastasia, 23. septembar 2002, Dom omladine) do danas, svirali u Beogradu i da tako još jednom podsetim i sebe i druge na značajan period života. Nije bilo mnogo teško ni u praksi - brojni PD prijatelji koji su tokom godina bili gosti/domaćini na našim koncertima - Kodagain, Nežni Dalibor, Ilija Ludvig, Autopark, ŽeneKese, The Mothership Orchestra, On Tour, Ventolin, Wooden Ambulance, Ika, Lula Mae, Stray Dogg - izabrali su da obrade pesmu bendova/solista koji su tokom ovog perioda svirali u Beogradu. Baukova Soba, Studio Underground NBGD i svi učesnici ove "akcije" omogućili su da se sve na najbolji mogući način izvede i tako ovu ideju pretvorili u pravi muzički vremeplov. Svima se zahvaljujem i jedva čekam da ponovo nešto radimo zajedno. ivan/PD

Pošto je prethodne godine škotski bend Chvrches (čita se kao "churches") bio neverovatno nahvaljen na osnovu samo jedne pesme ("Lies", ne ova koju sam okačio gore) - otprilike kao da su predvodnici renesanse britanske pop-muzike - čitav album je svakako stvar vredna pažnje. (Mada, iskreno, meni su se na osnovu pesme-dve više bili dopali neki drugi bendovi, kao što je npr. njujorški Salt Cathedral.)

Mu-Ziq-Somerset_Avenue_Tracks_(1992-1995)-WEB-2013-DPS

To celebrate 20 years of µ-Ziq, and Planet Mu's 300th release,
     Mike Paradinas, owner of Planet Mu has prepared this vinyl only,
     carefully compiled, limited edition album charting his unreleased
     productions from the start of his career in the early nineties.
     Curated by his wife and partner in the band Heterotic, Lara Rix-
     Martin, the twelve tracks on this double album run the gamut of
     his various styles from the placid, evocative ambient rhodes of
     'Air' to the syncopated industrial techno of 'Toy Gun #2' and lots
     more inbetween. The album opens with the woozy yet elegant
     counterpoint of 1993's 'Jewel Tea' which swiftly descends into
     distorted HR-16 drum machine chaos. 'Vinxel' switches to a more
     stately mood with it's woodblock bassline and measured 4/4 pulse
     keeping pace with one of those patent µ-Ziq melodies you'd swear
     you've heard somewhere before. Both 'Trail Quest' and 'Spooky
     Tooth' continue in this melodic vein until the aforementioned
     'Air' slows it all down with a much needed breather. The second
     half of the album goes into darker territory with the detuned
     piano of 'Str06' duelling it out with a low-slung hip hop beat.
     'Diala' sustains the reverb drenched mood while adding a sweeter
     edge as a synth line makes an appearance straight out of his 1993
     album Tango N'Vectif. 1995's 'Airto' brings some Marimba pierced,
     dark, cut-up jungle and the album starts to approaching the final
     stretch with the Peel Session tracks 'Johnson's Q-Fab' and the
     classic 'Green Lanes'. Mike Paradinas has also compiled a further
     12 track album Somerset Avenue Tracks Volume 2 included as a
     download card only with this edition.

Pre jedno desetak godina sam intervjuisao Mikea Paradinasa i bio zapanjen kada je na moja ponovljena insistiranja na hip-hop korenima njegove muzike odgovorio da on zapravo ne zna baš mnogo o hip-hopu niti ga je hip-hop inspirisao već da većma vuče korene iz housea. Onda sam, actually počeo još više da ga cenim...

...mada mu nisam čuo ni jedan album, er... godinama. Ovo bi moglo da bude slatko jer su rani radovi.

meni ovo nije ni blizu zanimljivo kao prvi album na kojem su sarađivali Etkins i fon Osvald, čak mi je i dosadnjikavo. u stvari, drugi deo albuma mi je OK, tu je čini mi se dominantniji Etkins. ali to mu je to, Basic Channel se više neće ponoviti, kao što se ni Model 500 neće ponoviti.
