Sherlock Season 3 Episodes Revealed

Today at this year's Media Guardian Edinburgh International Television Festival, Steven Moffat and the Sherlock team revealed three words that will comprise the three episodes of the next series:

   What should we expect to see in the third series of Sherlock? We posit some ideas below.
   
Rat
"Rat" can only be a reference to "The Giant Rat of Sumatra" which is not a complete, canonical story from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, but instead merely mentioned by Watson in "The Sussex Vampire." Several pastiches have been written about "The Giant Rat," the most notable being Richard Boyer's The Giant Rat of Sumatra. What Moffat and company will do with this one is fairly wide open, though we doubt they'll be too influenced by pastiches. The best money on a "Rat" episode would be one that takes place in the sewers and is essentially a subterranean "Hound of the Baskervilles." (Read more about "The Sussex Vampire" here.)
 
Bow
Our guess is that this is a reference to "His Last Bow," which comes from the Conan Doyle short story collection of the same name. The weird thing about "His Last Bow" is that it is one of the few stories not told from Watson's perspective, instead employing third person narration. This oddity is compounded by the fact that the story itself is less of a mystery and more of a pre-war time espionage story. While this seems out of place among the Holmes canon, the contemporary incarnation already has an abundance of espionage and government conspiracies. Instead of Mycroft leaving Sherlock out of the loop, perhaps this version of "His Last Bow" will see a more James Bond-style storyline.
The weirdest thing about "His Last Bow" is of course that Sherlock retires to become a beekeeper at the end of the story. Would our Benedict Cumberbatch Sherlock really do this? Is this a sign that the show might go on hiatus after season 3?
 
Wedding
This one is a bit more confusing than the other hints and could refer to a few stories in which forced or fictional marriages are on the minds of the primary bad guys. In "The Disappearance of Lady Frances Carfax," Holy Peter woos and marries women in an attempt to steal their fortunes. In "The Solitary Cyclist," the odious John Woodley attempts a shotgun wedding at the end of the story to steal Violet Smith's fortune. Of the two, we'd prefer "The Solitary Cyclist" as it's an awesome mystery, and Sherlock Holmes beats up someone in a bar. (Read more about these bad guys here.)
But "wedding" could also refer to the wedding of John Watson to Mary. Steven Moffat has already discussed waffling back and forth on whether or not he wants this version of Watson to have a go at marriage, and this might be the clue that he's made up his mind. In addition, Moffat has also already stated that John will likely not be spending as much time at Baker Street in the coming season, suggesting that Watson might move out following the Reichenbach fallout. Will John find his Mary? Will Sherlock do everything he can to break them up? Is this going to put our dynamic duo on the outs by the end of the season? Only time will tell.

SLEM je film koji prati prvu beogradsku radionicu pisanja i izvođenja slem poezije održanu u periodu od 6. do 26. marta 2010. Kroz priču o ovoj radionici i njenim polaznicima/ama, film ispituje slem kao vrstu socijalno- angažovanog poetskog performansa ali i fenomen popularnosti ovog žanra koji je u Beogradu vezan za Pesničenje- trening aktivne poezije, odnosno: festival na kom se, već četiri godine, okupljaju pesnici i pesnikinje iz cele Srbije, iz regiona kao i sa šire međunarodne scene.

Tokom prvih godinu dana redovnog održavanja, Pesničenje je postalo najposećenija literarno-scenska manifestacija u Beogradu. Oko ovog događaja, okupio se veliki broj autora/ki i ljubitelja/ki poezije a organizovanje slem radionice, bio je prvi pokušaj da se Pesničenju da i edukativna dimenzija to jest da ono postane prostor u okviru kog mladi pesnici/pesnikinje dobijaju priliku za umetničko (spisateljsko i performersko) usavršavanje.

Film se bavi Pesničenjem i akterima scene koja se na njemu okupila. On odgovara na pitanje šta je slem, gde je i kako nastao, zašto je za kratko vreme postao popularan širom sveta, šta su estetske karakteristike ovog žanra i koje su njegove mogućnosti intervencije u ovdašnji, lokalni kontekst.

O slemu, Pesničenju, poeziji, performansu i metodologiji edukacije mladih autora, u ovom filmu govore: Dragan Protić – član grupe škart i osnivač Pesničenja; Marko Aksentijević – radnik u kulturi i član redakcije Pesničenja; Minja Bogavac – slem pesnikinja, pozorišna umetnica i autorka koncepta ove radionice; Ana Marija Grbić, Stefan Kostadinović i Bratislav Veljić – pesnici kojima je slem radinonica bila prvi susret sa ovom vrstom poezije i performansa.

British filmmaker Ben Wheatley ("Kill List," "Sightseers") is set to develop the thriller drama series "Silk Road" for HBO.

Scribes James Vanderbilt ("Zodiac") and Laeta Kalogridis ("Alexander") are set to executive produce the show which is said to be in the vein of cult classic "The Prisoner".

Actual plot details are being kept under wraps.

Blake's 7: Classic BBC sci-fi to return on Syfy channel

Cult classic sci-fi series Blake's 7 is to be remade for the Syfy network, it has been announced.
FremantleMedia International said 13 hour-long episodes will be written by Heroes writer Joe Pokaski.
It added, in a statement, that Casino Royale and Goldeneye director Martin Campbell was also on board.
The original series, which ran on the BBC between 1978 and 1981, followed the exploits of a group of renegades and convicted criminals.
Roj Blake, played by Welsh actor Gareth Thomas, was a political dissident arrested, tried and convicted on false charges by a brutal totalitarian government, and then deported from Earth to a prison planet.
Stealing a spaceship, Blake and his team conducted a campaign against the ruling Terran Federation.
Peak audience
    Comparing Blake's 7 with the hit US sci-fi series Star Trek, The Independent said in 1998: "No 'boldly going' here: instead, we got the boot stamping on a human face which George Orwell offered as a vision of humanity's future in Nineteen Eighty-Four."
At its peak, the series was watched by 10 million viewers and was sold to 40 countries. A range of Blake's 7 merchandise including books, magazines, annuals and toys were also released.
A radio adaptation, featuring This Life's Daniela Nardini as villain Servalan, was made in 2006.
According to FremantleMedia, the new series will be set in 2136 and will "tell the story of seven criminals - six guilty and one innocent - on their way to life on a prison colony in space, who together wrestle freedom from imprisonment".
It continued: "They acquire an alien ship which gives them a second chance at life and become the most unlikely heroes of their time".
Chief executive officer David Ellender said: "Blake's 7 was such a forward-thinking concept that the show continues to have resonance with audiences today."
The latest announcement is not the first time a remake of Blake's 7 has been attempted.
In 2003, a miniseries was shelved after actor Paul Darrow - who played Kerr Avon in the original show - left the project.
Later in 2008, Sky One announced it had commissioned two 60-minute scripts for a potential series but two years later said it had decided not to proceed.
