ZNAK SAGITE — više od fantastike — edicija, časopis, knjižara...

Film (The Prestige) kreće 20. oktobra. Po romanu Kristofera Prista (čiji prevod upravo privodim kraju) koji će, nadam se, Laguna stići da objavi do Sajma knjiga. Domaći zadatak za organizacioni komitet Beokona: organizovati istovremeno promociju knjige i pretpremijernu projekciju filma (distributer: Tuck), ako ništa drugo, ono da vidimo kako Nikola Tesla izgleda u liku Dejvida Bovija. Ostali deo kastinga: Hju Džekmen, Skarlet Johanson, Majkl Kejn, Endi Serkis et al.
Iz prve ruke mogu da kažem da je knjiga, koliko god bila tegobna za prevođenje, vrlo zanimljiva, tako da jedva čekam da pogledam i flick.

When Newmarket Films offered to option The Prestige, CP had never heard of Christopher Nolan. The offer was accompanied by a videotape of Nolan's first feature, Following, and a note from Aaron Ryder of Newmarket. "Look at this, then try to imagine what Nolan could do with the facilities of a Hollywood studio behind him."

Following had been shot in monochrome over many weeks and months, using borrowed equipment and unknown actors. It was self-evidently made on a shoestring, but it had a mysterious, oblique quality that CP found uncannily like some of his own books. Although other offers had been received for the film option, CP chose to go with Newmarket, largely because of this interesting approach.

Before the deal was completed, Nolan's second film, Memento, arrived in Britain. It was exactly what Aaron Ryder had predicted: all the rough edges from the first film had been smoothed away, but the sharp intelligence remained and the offbeat approach to storytelling was intact. Although garlanded with multiple prizes from critics, film festivals, and so on, Memento was unjustly overlooked for the major awards. In particular, the screenplay (Nolan co-wrote the script with his brother Jonathan), the editing (Dody Dorn) and the direction have had a seminal influence on many filmmakers who have followed.

Nolan's next two films were major studio productions: Insomnia (a remake of a 1997 Norwegian thriller, directed and co-written by Erik Skjoldbjærg), and Batman Begins, a blockbusting epic that is said by those who know to have rejuvenated the comics-to-movie genre in general, and the Batman franchise in particular.

Now The Prestige, a return to offbeat material, a smaller canvas and a more personal style of film-making. Other than writing the novel on which everything is based, CP has made no contribution to the way the film is written or made. The only thing of which he is certain is that this is likely to be the true follow-up to Memento: the material is as challenging and unusual as that in the earlier film, but Nolan now has a breadth of experience with major productions which seems likely to guarantee an extraordinary movie.

na tv kanalu Cinemania već neko vreme ide trejler filma. Izgleda prilično dobro. A pored Hju Džekmena tu je i (nepomenut) Kristijan Bejl, tako da se ovde u stvari susreću Wolverin i Betmen

Evo... film je za dva dana prikazivanja zaradio 15 miliona dolara...

U dva dana sam pročitao roman i odgledao film.
Nolanovi nastavljaju sa dobrim poslom, ovaj film je BOLJI od knjige. Iako mislim da ipak treba prvo pročitati knjigu, savet za one koji biraju je definitivno: Film.

Neću nastaviti dalje ovom prilikom jer je to nemoguće bez spojlera, a za ovaj film (i knjigu) to je od presudne važnosti. Naravno, ukoliko želite (pročitali roman, odgledali film) - obrazložiću.

Christopher Nollan bi definitivno trebalo da se drži svog brata. S jedne strane su Memento i The Prestige, a s druge Insomnia i Batman Begins.

Mislim da je on toga svestan, zato ga je i uključio u izradu Dark Knighta. Videćemo da li će mu dozvoliti da se "razmaše".
Ali vidim, iz njegovih intervjua, da ni on ne bi lako pisao bez Kristofera.

A Insomnia je rimejk filma onog Norvežanina što je režirao *gulp* Prozac Nation?  

Elem, pogledah i ja D Prestiž. Ne znam šta da kažem osim - prekrasan film. Jedina mana - opet Skarlet Johanson   Dokle više? Planira li ona da glumi u SVAKOM filmu???
A za klasu simpatičnija Pajper Perabo dobija minornu ulogu  

Skarlet Johanson se ovde sasvim lepo uklapa u ulogu.
